Surprisingly great

If you like turn-based strategy games with an old-school feel, chances are you will like this game. If you prefer action-RPGs, look elsewhere. I play tons of iPhone games, most are a good quick distraction, but this one was good enough for me to play through it multiple times. Overall, it plays like an old-school side-scrolling Final Fantasy Tactics. I have some minor complaints: 1. I wish there were a way to select/deselect multiple characters at once. It is tedious if you want to select or unselect all the characters except for a few single units. 2. Another reviewer had it right that the game needs an additional lower difficulty level for anyone playing through it for the first time because some simple mistakes can end up being costly. Other than that, I think most of the complaints I just read from the other reviewers who liked this game were pretty weak, in particular, the review that complained about the choice of buying enemy units; After one playthrough it's simple to notice which enemy units you might want buy. Try going for the ones that can hit multiple enemies from 2 squares away. IMO one of the best units to get is the red mage(not sure if that's the official name) as she is the only unit in the game other than bosses with a range of 3 squares. Also, to the complaint about lack of animations, though the game only has attack animations(ie. the characters themselves don't animate), two of the best early RPGs, Final Fantasy IV and Final Fantasy V for the SNES used the same game mechanic and managed to still be fun. Overall, the fun here lies in the turn-based strategy of your offensive and defensive formations. If you want an action-RPG, I suggest something else like The Secret of Mana.

You have to pay to beat the first level. Enjoy the free tease.

Not good.

Looks like an interesting game, but the gameplay is ridiculously boring and the controls are as unintuitive as you could imagine. Besides impossible controls and lack of anything interesting regarding gameplay, it's very nice.

Awesome

GravityRainbow---

One of the better iPhone strategy games. It takes a while to get used to though and it's easy to lose some good characters by not paying attention. Save often so you can reset if one of your good players dies

Hard but fun

Sephiroth144

Ingenious iPhone oriented RPG; but quite hard to get thru, especially if you are trying to without a hero dying; that said, it IS not impossible- though a FAQ would not hurt my feelings,(and is there a second cleric anywhere?)

Awful!

Zachandnestle

This game fails. I cant even beat the first level because i refuse to pay. Dont get this game. I actually wish you can rate it zero stars instead of one

Nice

([E])

Beat the game easily. Would be much better if there were more levels or maybe a sequel.

Bad engrish and poor UX

nFamousPorkchop

Not the most user friendly game. Choppy and excessive. Also needs help with its copywriting.
