Buggy and unpolished

Walkie talkie

Works really well

Doesn’t work. Just like the old app

tavolcom9

I could at least create an account and sign in. (But my old account credentials from the old app didn’t seem to work.) Now that I’m in the app my chips 2.0 can’t be found, despite simultaneous playing music from the phone. I get the message “no device available pull down to refresh”. When are we getting chips 3.0 that actually work as advertised??

Has issues

I tried to log in but it wouldn’t accept my password and I tried to re-sign up, but my email was taken ! There’s no way to contact tech support or reset the password. I can’t comment on the rewrite of the app because I can’t log-in.

Not working well at all

Snowboarder Renee

I was so excited when this new app came out. Unfortunately does not work well at all. I am able to pair it with my phone. I was able to set up a group. Seems to only work 20% the time. It will work and then 30 seconds later it doesn’t work. I’ve tried it with with and without music. I tried it with Wi-Fi as well as LTE.such a bummer.

Can’t work it

I just downloaded this as a news article said it was good to have in case of a hurricane. But I donot know how to form a group or add to it as there are no instructions on how this works.

Fail. Strike 2.

I was hopeful for this one. I figured by starting from scratch, it would be functional. But no. Observation 1: can’t rename each ODT Chips 2.0, so if more than 1 set is on, there is no way to distinguish one from the other in the app. So I made sure only one at a time was on as I set them up. Was able to create a group of me + wife. Was able to make it work with the PTT button on the phone/app. So far, so good. Tried pressing the right chip speaker, and it never was detected by the app. Without that function, it’s useless. Using an iPhone X and Xr. Both on iOS 12.1. I spent an hour in my living room trying to make this work. Unless this thing is easy to set up and use (set up could use some instructions), no skier will use it. DISAPPOINTED.

Disappointed

Useless if you can’t use it when the app isn’t open. Disappointed.

Fail. Walkie talkie doesn’t work

B. Shred

My family was gifted the Chips 2.0 and we were stoked to use the walkie talkie feature on a trip to Colorado, but we couldn’t get the original app to work. Not a big deal since it was so great to have for music, but it was still a disappointment. Fast forward a couple years, the newest version of the app, and some confidence the issue was fixed, and we still couldn’t get the walkie talkie function to work on a trip just a couple of weekends ago. The other big problem is what the previous reviewer already stated. If there are multiple people within Bluetooth range around with Chips, there is no way of knowing which set is yours when you try to connect them to Bluetooth or the app. There needs to be some way of identifying each set.

Total garbage
