Problem with app?

I’m having the same problem recently with my First Alert weather app. Most of the time I get the not available in your current location! Why? What’s going on there with this app? It’s always been so reliable and accurate, now not so much! Would appreciate some feedback.

I used to love this app for keeping up with weather. I live in Haleyville, AL and for some reason the last couple weeks when I have it set to “follow me” it says I’m in the middle of the ocean between Ecuador and Puerto Baquerizo Moreno and I have never been there. I have deleted and reinstalled the app multiple times and it keeps doing this.

Most untrustworthy weather app there is. 90% of the time it’s incorrect or the opposite of what it says is gonna happen will happen. It’s sunny on the app, it rains IRL, it rains on the app, it’s sunny all day long.DO NOT GET!!!!! Will not be accurate.it ruined an entire weekend I had planned.

Why do you refuse to fix your video problem?

The last part of forecast videos are cut off. They are cut off by the exact amount of time that ads play at the beginning of the video. This is EASY to reproduce. So, why have you not fixed it? Is the last 20 seconds of your video not important? Is it filled with useless blather so cutting it off is actually saving me time from useless info? If not, then be a real weather authority, put your viewers safety first, be professional and FIX EASY BUGS.

Get an alert? 30-45 seconds of ads. Want to look at the radar? 15 second splash screen of ads. Tornado warning? Here’s an ad about the Bible. That’s not ominous, right? Get it together WAFF. Your app is an ad-ridden mess, slow, and easily the most obnoxious and useless weather app. I’d love to have some kind of local weather information, but seeing as you make it as difficult as possible, I will continue to have to use some other app.

Before leaving a review about this app I took the time to read other reviews. I wasn’t surprised to hear others complaining about the most annoying behavior of this app. That is: there are too many, too intrusive, and too unsafe ads playing in this app. The main complaint that should be a liability concern is the forced advertisements during severe weather. That is a time when information is most critical, time is too valuable to waste, and mobile device battery life is too precious to waste on an ad. It’s not like you haven’t been hearing this complaint for years now. Please, let your actions match your words when you say that you are the valley’s weather authority and that you are here to help us be safe and severe weather informed. As for positives, your app shows useful information and your radar is usually the most accurate for our area. I would appreciate having rainfall amount forecast and history information added as a feature to this app. If that info could be more granular than just the HSV airport that would be even better.

Get rid of ads during severe weather

If I need information during a First Alert weather event, THEN PUT THE ALERT *FIRST*! Don’t make me wait through an ad when I need immediate info.

I used this app regularly for a couple of years. It was reasonably dependable. However, it’s gotten to where it stays locked up and unresponsive 1/2 the times I try to access it despite several attempts to reload and reconfigure it. Being a “first alert” it should be dependable above everything else. And yes, I agree that the intrusion and delays introduced by the advertising is substantially more annoying than other apps in its class.

Active radar stops when I press play. One second there’s rain/storm and the next a blank map.

When I launch the app, it lands on the splash screen and freezes there. I have to swipe it out of multitasking, then open again for it to work. I don't mind ads, but when I want to see weather info during severe watches and warnings, I want to go direct to the weather, and not to an ad splash screen. I also don't like how if I leave the app for just a few seconds, then open again, the splash screen shows again. It's a shame to have a really nice weather app, then ruin it with a ridiculous full page ad splash screen that is annoying. You won't get 5 stars from me, until that splash screen is removed. I can deal with the other ads within the app.
