Whoever does all the work at va tech deserves major props. Easily the best dendrology app, rivals the outstanding va tech dendrology website.

Iif this meant for arborists I guess its great. For the rest of us, list the trees with the English first and then alpha order! The latin names are interesting to a quite small segment of iphone users for goodness sake!

App works great but can stand improvement. GPS function doesn't work and it would be nice if the manually entered location would stay remembered until changed. Another suggestion would be to be able to search trees by leaf.

Awesome app, I frequently use it while hiking. GPS works, database is huge, allows a complete novice to accurately id any tree. Yes, it takes a long time to download the database after it's first installed but that only needs to be done once. Works equally well on iPad. 5 stars if it gets updated for iPhone 5 screen size and an editable list of recently id'd trees.

Please consider breaking down the data base into regions/states so we don't have to devote so much room to a single app. If I am in the east, I don't need trees that are confined to the west. It is because of the size that I can only give it a two.
Great app, but...

This is a great app, but there is no true way to narrow the results down. And can y'all update the app? We're two generations forward with iPhones and iOS; the iPhone 4/4S screen size isn't great; full screen would be an optimal experience. The small screen size isn't a complete deal beaker, but if there was a similar app that displayed full screen, I would probably download it instead.

The app worked great until I connected to wifi and downloaded all the fact sheets. Now it just freezes when I open it or it only loads the main screen repeatedly then crashes. Please fix this issue!!
Bring back offline use!!!

When I use this app I'm usually in the woods and don't have signal. Therefore, this app is completely useless when I come upon a tree I don't know. I really love the app overall (when I have signal). It provides very useful descriptions for identification. Please allow us to download all of the fact sheets at once so we don't have to have signal! That'll make it a 5 star again for sure!
