Needs an Update, ASAP!

I see my daughter use this app for homework. I always notice that when she clicks things, they don’t go through unless you push them like 10 times. Also, the game “Word Scramble,” the audio keeps on running, and it’s sound terrible and very annoying. She always complains to her father saying, “Daddy, can you fix it?” and stuff like that. I’ve complained to her school that she really does not need SpellingCity, or at least I don’t think so. Also, I don’t know if your school does this, but parents have to pay for the Premium. It’s outrageous! I would gladly pay for Premium, especially for my daughter’s education, but not for something like SpellingCity. If SpellingCity could do an awesome update, or just at least fix some bugs, it would surly do the trick for parents like me and husband to enjoy it. After all, do help with homework!

Terrible don’t buy

I play this and after like 5 minutes it crashes and kicks me out of the app. I check the Wi-Fi connection and it’s perfect but then I go on the app and it works terribly. Buy something that actually is useful for spelling.

Not good since last update

I would give this app 5 stars as it has been a great tool in the past, but now with the latest updates, I feel I can only give it 1 star. I have used this app in the past as a reinforcing learning tool for my daughters spelling words that they bring home from school. They don't like writing their words everyday to study them. This app had been great because they could play games, take practice tests, etc with their classroom words. Even though our teacher doesn't use this program, I would input their words at the beginning of the week so they could learn them by "playing." Now I can't get the app to work as it used to and every time I go to login it just takes me to the list page and there is not a way for them to find the games they had been playing in their previous school years. This used to be a great app for learning AND fun, now they'll just have to look at their lists to study and *gasp* write their words!

Disappointing

Used this app all the time and it WAS wonderful. The pricing is now outrageous, especially for just 1 child.

Just WOW

So I spent years typing my lists into this program and now the app isn't for free members. Here's the thing. I am not comfortable opening up my child's iPad for safari use and $35 a year is kinda steep for one student for the premium membership, especially since I entered all my own lists. I'd gladly pay $10 per student/ year. I would have purchased premium years ago if that was the price. Meaning they would have made $90 from me over that period of time. Take a lesson in marketing. You have to sell your product at a price point people are willing to pay or you don't sell your product. Forcing their hand to pay after years of free service will just drive those people to the competition or another solution all together. So I guess my daughter gets us use the program on the laptop for now. My guess is the way things are going with this company the website won't be free for very long. My suggestion... Look for another spelling app all together. That's what I'll be doing.

Change in App - Very disappointed

PHX Mommy of 2

I have been using this app going on for 5 years. My fifth grader struggles with reading and vocabulary and this app assisted her and being successful for the past four years. Now that the new school year has started we have logged in to find that the app is no longer an app and it's web based. It only works with flash player, which is not available on Apple products. She is no longer able to use The "test me" feature or the "teach me" feature to make sure that she is spelling her vocabulary words correctly. We were able to lock her in and she could study as we cook dinner or in the car. Very frustrated and distraught that we are going to struggle more now that she's getting older and are losing our best resource to help provide her education outside of the classroom.

Disappointed

Super disappointed that the free app is no longer free and that I can't use my lists on the iPad any longer. $60 is too much to pay for my class!

i wish they would stop ahead

I just finished inputting my son's first week spelling list so he could practice. Upon logging in on his app, I kept receiving an error message. After 30 minutes of trying to figure out the problem, I look at the app reviews and realize the problem. It's absolutely ridiculous to take away app access for free members. My kids loved using Spelling City, which is a big deal considering they hate practicing their spelling words. They even used the app this summer. I'd be willing to pay $2-4 for the app, but not $35. I'll be looking for a new spelling app.
