Why the change?

We have been using this app for a few years and have loved it, but now when we go to the app and click on any of the activities, it takes us to the Internet, and doesn't play within the app. I just upgraded to the premium version thinking that may have had something to do with the change, but now after reading all the reviews, it seems that it's due to your latest update. Please revert back to the old program, clearly we all loved it, so I'm not sure why you made these changes.
Now only for premium members!

We have been using this SpellingCity app for years. It has been fantastic for my younger son, and I have been considering the paid version... until today. I entered my son's words as usual, and then went to check that they had imported to the app. When I opened it, I was met with a message telling me I had to update to continue. No problem. I went back to the app, only to be told, it is only for premium members!!!! Now you have to use the website for the free version, but of course it uses flash, which iPads don't support! Hence the purpose of the app in the first place! It is their company, so they can do what they want. And had they given me notice that this would be occurring, I would have purchased a membership. Now however, they have lost our business, and I am off in search of a replacement!

After 6 years of using this app on a weekly basis and recommending it to many parents and teachers, I will be abandoning it. I will not pay $35 so I can use an app instead of a website. And, since my kids hate the website, I will be finding a new solution for our weekly spelling words. Terrible change.

Would give 0 stars if possible. You must have internet enabled to use. I do not let my kids have access to the internet on their iPad, therefore this app is useless. It will now be deleted.

We have used this app for years, it was great. This new update makes it totally useless! If I could rate it lower I would! You can no longer get your kids spelling lists, that's all I ever used it for and now you can't even do that! So disappointed!!!

What a shame for such a useful tool be put waste. I cannot believe we have used this app for at least 4 years and now your going to make us pay $35 a year if we want to use it! Ridiculous! You will be loosing so many customers. I could understand if that was a one time fee, but yearly is not affordable for the average household. Just think, if the yearly fee was $5, most people that value this app would agree to pay that and you'd probably be making bank, but instead you are loosing out!
New update inconvenient for classroom use

We have used spelling city in my school and classroom for several years. Last year I was fortunate enough to receive an iPad cart so each student has their own iPad. We use the app almost everyday and it is very convenient since I do spelling groups instead of one list for the whole class. Unfortunately, since the last update it has been more of a nuisance than a helpful tool. It does not keep students logged in and logging in for my second graders is not an easy task. The entire layout has changed which completely threw my kids for a loop. I hope that the app creators will address some of these issues to make the app a little more user friendly in the classroom.

I added all the words and everything else, so now they change the app figures and didn’t even notify us. I understand you want to charge more that’s no problem but at least have some respect for people who actually did use your app and now it’s really difficult to even set it up. How can you keep costumers when you don’t make it easy on them!

2017 This app is now ONLY for Premium users, we spent a lot of time the past few years adding our lists on here and loved it as we could use it wherever we were at. Now we can only access it on the computer through the internet website (which we prefer to limit internet access with our children). We understand they need to make some $$ but we can no longer give it the rating we had before because 'the app' no longer offers it's original purpose to all members which is what we originally got it for. 2014 We love this app and have used it for the past few years. It has been a big help, especially now since we home school. The update for this app said it would help with the new iOS update, I just updated yesterday and now I can't get this app to work. It says it doesn't support my devices resolution now. Can you please fix this soon ?!?
