The app idea is great. I was looking forward to using the app with my new vitamix scale but it does not work well with my iPhone. The button to add ingredients disappear when I try to add a new recipe. It is so frustrating and annoying. The app also has crashed several times. I’m even considering returning the scale because of this app. This app needs some serious updates.

The app recognize my vitamin blender model but when I click on a milkshake option recipe it stalls & then I get a notice saying the app only works if I have the scale :( super disappointed I saw myself using the app to assure I buy the ingredients but the app doesn’t work :(

I was very excited to check out this app but when I got on, the recipes were very confusing. I have no clue how many grams are in a cup etc. Not sure who thought that was a good idea. Secondly, the app seems very dated, it’s not eye catching. Maybe stick to blenders, love those!
Custom features don’t work

Limited amount of recipients, and the option to add in your customs recipes doesn’t work. I’ve repeatedly tried and it does not give you option to complete/save ingredients as you go. Keeps sending you back to the menu. Very disappointed as the whole point of purchasing the scale was to help me measure with customs recipients. May just have to return the scale.

After 3 calls to VitaMix and 2 emails to the developer of the app (Perfect Blend), the ability to use this app as a blind user is not in existence. I have requested that a button to be added in the pairing screen be added in order to go back to the previous screen in order to make the necessary selections to use the app with the blender. I have been quite patient in having this problem resolved so I could use the app VitaMix has lost out a future sale of the smart scale and future purchases of a blender in the blind community. The other annoying issue is how a blind person needs to scroll through the alphabetical listing of recipes. There are some helpful fixes that could benefit all, but VitaMix refuses to listen. A good Apple developer would not think twice to include accessible features in creating an app that was all inclusive.

Disconnected from blender App control of the blender doesn’t work most of the time.(A3500) Getting more recipes isn’t working when I click on my account does nothing. Tried on both iPad and iPhone same problem The scale function is fantastic Please support and update your app more frequently. Feels like they asked a family member to make an app for them ;) instead of getting full time developers

I was really psyched to buy the blender, the scale, and use the app only to find that the recipes are technically incomplete. If you have a recipe, you also have instructions. The instructions are missing in the app. For instance, the “Ham and Egg Quiche” Vitamix recipe is in this app with no reference at all to the full set of instructions for the non-blending part. The recipe needs to either include the entire recipe or at the very least a link to the full recipe. What would be even better is a link to the full set of instructions with an in-app browser and a way to back for the blending part thus providing a full experience in the app plus maybe a regular browser link or icon for whatever the user wants to do from the default browser. Another possibility would be to have show/hide option for the full recipe within the app. I feel that this would make it a true all-in-one solution. Pairings between recipes is great to have as well because it adds value to the experience and makes things seem more symbiotic.

Went to add custom recipe and went to add first ingredient and there is no OK button to save it and go to the next one, the OK button is probably hidden underneath but it won’t let you scroll down, disaster app, returning this dumb scale right back where it come from, word to Vitamix, it everyone is going to buy a big dumb iPad to use your app with, some people need to use their iPhone and if the big screen on my iPhone 7 Plus can’t see the entire app then this is a fail!

My wife and I started eating healthier about a year ago but our breakfasts were still routine. We decided that breakfast smoothies would juice things up and this app + scale did just that. Have had it for about a month and it is amazing. Ever try to measure a tablespoon of honey? With this you don’t bother measuring... just pour the honey into the blender until you hear the beep that indicates the correct amount. Same with grapes, spinach leaves, apple slices, ice cubes, lemon juice, etc. and the recipes are really delicious. I’m not a good cook but I can follow a recipe and these are good-proof. Works with any blender (I use a Ninja). Recipes can be scaled for fewer servings. They can be modified or you can create new recipes. Be sure to explore the app thoroughly... it’s quite complete. Support is excellent. Highly recommended!
Why doesn’t this app work???

I got a vitamix smart blend scale for Mother’s Day to go with my vitamix blender. I’m using an iPhone 8. Every time I try to add a new recipe, I go through the motions to add the item, but the option to actually save/add/done is never available. It always seems to be covered by the keyboard and I can’t get to it. I’d love to use the app and the scale but so far it just sits there because I can’t seem to get it to work properly with my cell phone. ?
