Poor RRS Implementation

Too many of the rules are broken. For example a boat can over take above and behind in the circle, hit a boat and be clear. Always tack too close, it will let you overlap rigs, sails, and the edge of your boat. Only the most basic of rules work well. In close quarters you can learn were rules are broken by playing without abiding by any rule other than S vs P and W vs L. Some of the rules have gaps, some do not turn on or off appropriately, etc. You need to learn these programming errors to play well. This game is the Thunderdome of sailboat racing, were you’ll be sailing without rules,

This game is a great start! Realistic as far as a sailing video game can get. Wind shifts, gusts, and tactics are all there. Needs more classes and the steering is a tad slow but overall I am trilled there is a gaming option for sailors. Great job!

Awesome realistic racing sailing action for sailors

Addictive game with real online contestants. App looks like still on the works, many bugs, crashes and clumsy controls. But you gest the best sailing simulator this far, with a very realistic start, strict umpires (though mark room and other more intricated rules don't exist), and wind shifts. Seems made by sailors for sailors, maybe not fun at all for those who don't know how to sail.

It wouldn't be a bad app if the steering lag even with the alternate controls worked in a predictable manner. It also lacks the ability to trim sails for optimizing a leg when in heavy traffic and a course correction will not work. Plus the course is too crowded and when someone commits a penalty from your left of course and ghosts during the 360 turn only to now be right of course and now you get a penalty it's infuriating. Considering that the same developer has other sail racing products that are much better then this, even as a casual playing game it does not give players the ability to avoid getting caught in the heard.

Real boats respond to small changes in steerage, these do not, in fact sometimes these take way too long to respond to huge changes -- annoyingly this seems to be worst in close quarters. Also annoying, performance when reaching doesn't match real life, real boats don't go faster at 170 to the wind than they do at 160. I think I'd rather see a windex or telltales than numeric degrees, and an indication of wind speed would be nice too, otherwise how do you know how well you're performing? On the plus side it's a decent implementation of the racing rules, and it's compelling, even if sometimes frustrating. Any reason it isn't windward/leeward with gates on both ends like the AC races? And why do they sometimes have spinnakers and sometimes not?
A step back as we move forward

I used to love the inshore races and always looked forward to the offshore races as well. Now there is no easy way to race other than on your phone unless you have good WiFi or pay $10 for the proper add one to your browser. There is zero help from the website and frankly only one way to ask questions. A steep drop to crappy VR. I really will not miss dealing with your website as I miss playing the VOR this year. Also the inshore needs a serious revamp of rules, especially rule 17.

You're close but the steering is getting frustrating. Either make the rules match real life or drop all but the most obvious ones;I.e. you can't ram somebody This is just a the same review you keep getting so keep working on it. If your not going to make the marina available take it down.
