Jettthefox

This app is incredible! I can travel the world in seconds. One request: can you please do one of Niagara Falls? You'd become my new favorite company if you do (I have your old slides from the 60s, you should totally re-do it as VR).

Without 3-D, half the magic is gone

clinkyri1

Anyone who has ever owned a classic View-Master viewer knows that the magic behind these things is the 3-D stereoscopic images. Despite the claims on the packaging sold in stores, the content provided in these new VR "reels" is not 3-D. The only exception to that is augmented reality contents that appears when you look at the reels through the viewer, which is a completely secondary part of the overall experience. I feel that Mattel misused the Viewmaster brand-name to misrepresent this product. What you get are 2D panoramic views which would be just as effective if viewed on any normal screen. There are competing products available that do provide 3-D stereoscopic VR and enable you to "travel" to distant places...save your money for those. As to the content itself, it is fine. Maybe 4/5. Execution 3/5.

Uh-uh - not 3D stereo

waveboy

These are not the 3D pictures you are looking for. These are plain old 360 photos that you can find for free all over the web. The old view master was stereo 3D. Sad face. And $15!!! Angry face.
