It’s impossible to figure out how to submit a claim same day while in the office of the medical provider

So so

It’s nice to be able to enter through the app, but has some issues. When clicking on claim for first time, it only allows you to enter those pics and then the ability to click on it again disappears. So you can’t add more pictures. The system does allow you to add 5 pics, which is nice, but sometimes you have more than that to submit for one claim. You end up having to go to a different area to do, and even then you can have issues. When uploading pics of receipts through the “receipts” option, which is the other route to go from above. I like that this is there. But after uploading, it will either say used or unused, when you click on an unused one, it will give you options of what to do with it. The 3 options are mark as used, attach to a claim or start a new claim. The “attach to a claim” option does not always show, which is very annoying when you have to upload multiple receipt pictures, more than the original 5. So they sit there and you don’t know what’s going on with them. Are they even looking at this stuff? When calling, they say to attach to a claim, so you try to and may give it a couple of days after uploading and still can’t attach receipt to what you need to. And unfortunately, this makes it hard to know what’s going on and you don’t really get an update unless 1) they need a receipt for something or 2) your card has been suspended. It seems tougher to get things straightened out when your card has been suspended. A suggestion to all users, and we have heard this from VIA, is to not use your actual card in December because it causes issue with turn over to the new year, pay out of pocket and submit receipts later. That’s one of the most ridiculous things we should have to do. This money on the card is OUR money and has already come out of OUR pockets into this card. We shouldn’t be restricted on not using it the last month of the year, especially when we have bills to pay and may not have other money to pay for stuff, because we knew or know how much we have on the card and planned it out when deciding on what to use it for. Fix that issue. If we aren’t getting new cards every year, fix your system so that we can use our current year money for exactly the whole year. And if not sending out new cards every year, which is understandable, make the new year money only available starting in the new year if it gets preloaded. For users of this card, some doctors may bill you in January for a December of previous year service, unfortunately the money that may roll over from that previous year isn’t available until March. Which again is annoying and you have until April 30th to submit previous year receipts. Maybe have an option on app or website for previous year receipts and new year receipts so your system knows where to pull from? And then we can submit as need to for each year. You can pull down the old year option after April 30th. Some doctors offices will put you in collections in that amount of time without paying and like I mentioned before, if I specifically set up $2,000 on my FSA account to use for medical services, that means that was $2,000 out of my pocket at the beginning of the year, that I don’t randomly have available to dip into since it was put on the card when you want us to pay out of pocket? I understand both sides, but it seriously needs to be reconsidered how that portion works. Me putting $2,000 on the card is my savings account specifically for medical and when you can’t access and don’t have the money sitting around because you accounted on being able to use your card, makes it hard. Anyways...getting access into app. This needs a little work. If you and your spouse are on the same account, it allows for one email and one phone number associated with it. So if it’s under your spouses’ email, the phone app won’t recognize your phone number and requires that to recognize it, they need to send an email or text to the email or phone number attached to account. Understandable for security, but our spouses are not always available or around us to be able to relay that information. And it expires after a few minutes. Then have to do it again. Annoying. I have set it up that it is supposed to recognize it off my fingerprint, this doesn’t always work! Why can’t we have a way for it to be set up for both people on both of their devices? I know we would appreciate it! That would be more user friendly. Last thing, from our experience, if you have to “pay” VIA back for something, like new year money was accidentally spent on old year bills, they suspend your card and you have to pay that money back by submitting receipts for that amount. But the receipts have to be for new year bills. Once that’s done you have access to your money again for new year. But they won’t let you use some of the new year money on the card to pay it back. For example, if I had $1200 in new year money and used $200 on old year bill, they suspend card and you have to submit to them receipts for new year bills that you paid for out your pocket worth $200 to get card active again. They won’t take another $200 off of your new money on the card to pay themselves back. If they did, you would have $800 left on card. Which I feel like should be an option, especially at end of the year. I say this because even though you may be able to rollover a certain amount to the new year, you would lose whatever else was left on card and your card would still be suspended until you pay that $200 back. At least that’s how it was explained to me. That makes no sense to me. This would be a sure fire way for VIA to get its money back, you take it off of our current year and then we have that much less money available to use in the current year. Overall, the app is alright but could use some tweaks.

Glitchy more & more

LishMo

Having to authenticate via multiple steps EVERY time is exhausting and half the time I just give up there. When I do need to get in to the system it more often than not just shuts down the program as I’m getting through the last step. Very frustrating. I would not use this app at all if it weren’t the only option to manage my account on the go.

Impossible to log in

I was excited to get to use a mobile app. Of course, I cannot log in. I now see that this same issue is two years old. Obviously, Via Benefits has not fixed this and doesn’t care. They falsely advertised this as a benefit of using their service.
