Excellent app

Excellent. Everything in one place. The daily readings are very useful. Wish it was audio as I would enjoy listening to readings and other prayers while driving.

Overall pleased.

I’ve been using this app on my iPhone and like it a lot. I’ve just got an iPad, and like it better. I do wish that the app allowed for sending misspelled words to Verbum like the desktop version does. Overall I'm pleased.

Unbelievably Good

With the release of Verbum 6.01, this app has reached a new height of usefulness with tabbed resources. I find myself drawn to this app more than my web browser and social media apps now that it’s so easy to immerse oneself in Scriptural and Patristic study. Well done, Logos! I hope to see this iOS app continue to evolve into something that rivals the desktop app, especially on the new iPhone X and iPad Pro, which seem to have enough power to do so.

Amazingly Useful

This app, especially with the new update, manages to make studying theological texts as easy and entertaining as streaming a movie. This app is a great way to connect with the Lord!

Released before it’s time

Overall, this WAS THE BEST bible app any Catholic could get. In many ways I still believe that. The shear amount of bibles, books, maps, and references specifically for Catholics can’t be beat. That is still true today. The way you can open up bibles, highlight passages, add notes, and cross reference can not be matched. Unfortunately, this latest release, that includes tabbed documents introduced many bugs, that I feel should have been caught before release. I’ve been using this app for years without any problems. But I only been using this new tabbed documents version for a few days and every day I find a new bug. The list that I have so far is: 1) From “Todays Readings” list on the home page documents fail to open. Have to click on multiple times to get the document to open. 2) From a document window, when opening up a reference, a preview window opens up. But from that window you may not be able to “jump to reference” (open another tab that contains that reference). 3) From a prayer list, completing a prayer on that list forces a screen re-draw (it shouldn’t). 4) Fonts are messed up in my notes document. 5) Can no longer use the iOS “Look Up” function to check meaning of words in documents. Support is aware of all of these issues. This is typically the best app that I have on my phone. But because of this latest release I can now say that it’s one of the buggiest. The only other app that’s just as buggy is my Garmin Connect app. This app along with my Garmin app both have had major UI redesigns that broke functionality. Simply put, too much change and not enough testing. I found most of these problems within the first day of using the app. Bottom line, hold off on getting this app until all of these basic bugs are fixed. I’m guessing that may take a while to fix. As a software engineer I realize that this may not be easy to fix. What I don’t understand is how these bugs were not found during development and testing. Once these bugs are fixed; I’m sure that it will be back on my list of best iPhone apps.

No more dictionary

After the last update I lost the 'Look Up' feature. Four emails to tech support and still no dictionary. New isn't always better, I want my old app back!

Latest update

Hilldale63

Latest update makes it more slightly cumbersome to use the “Passage Guide”. Instead of researching various commentaries on one tab, you now have them spin off separate pages.

Excellent

It is a great app with excellent functionality that has been made better with their latest update. I’m impressed with the changes they made. This app will provide a great experience to all users!

Favorite AP for spiritual growth

If you find it challenging and are intimidated to read the Bible, this is a great tool to have. I am eager to use it and have yet to use the additional resources.

A protestant app made for Catholics- Commentaries are Anti-Catholic

R.O.123

Many resources offered in this app are protestant and deny Catholic doctrines like the Eucharist and Confession and so on. Commentaries offered blatantly deny these truths on key scriptures that clearly teach them. They claim that the bible doesn’t say what it says. This is not only irresponsible but evil to intentionally deceive Catholics by promoting this app as a Catholic app. It’s a protestant app for Catholics :( The Catholic Study Bible by St. Ignatius is a much better bible app
