I returned some items to Costco over two weeks ago totaling over $1,100. Costco had no issue depositing the funds back to my Varo account. However, Varo immediately pulled the funds out and suspended my account supposedly until I provided copies of the original receipts, via email, for the items returned. It took two days for Varo to review my email, and then they requested the copies of the receipts (again) plus copies of my bank statement. I had to wait an additional 2 days for them to review these documents and get a response. I called customer service because it’s now over a week and a half of getting the runaround, waited 35 min to talk to a rep, and was told I had to wait 2-3 days for the email response, LET ALONE ANOTHER 7 DAYS FOR THE REFUND TO BE APPROVED after that. Avoid this bank and its incompetent customer service department, especially during this time of uncertainty due to the coronavirus pandemic!

Like any bank you’re gonna have your problems. But I’m the type of guy who doesn't like dealing with people and that’s why I love this bank. They help you save instead of excessively charge your account with bank fees. It’s a bank that does the work for you and I like it??

I tell everyone about how great Varo is, I’m very happy. Of course, I’d like to see it easier and cheaper to get cash and deposit cash. Then it would be perfect.

I enjoy using Varo as my personal bank account. I’ve been experiencing issues with the widget not working for the Varo app on iOS.

First of all, I got my direct deposit a day earlier than with my other bank account so that was awesome. I heard about Varo from my boyfriend and he sent me a link to sign up. I didn’t use the link and went straight to the app so he didn’t get the credit (my mistake). I emailed Varo’s customer support and they were amazing. Told me what I had to do and once it was done I emailed them back and they gave both me and my boyfriend the referral credit. Absolutely awesome service!!!

I think most of the varo customers appreciate the high APY in their savings accounts, even though they lowered the % few weeks ago it's still one of the best offers in the US. The problem is the app is simply not designed well. It's unstable, half of the times I open it I don't see my transactions / accounts. And If you don't have physical branches it is essential to have flawless app.
