So I paid for this app when it first came out. You do an update and now I have to pay?? I reached out through the website over a month ago an NO ONE had gotten back to me! This is ridiculous and unfair. If I can report this to Apple.. I will be doing so!

I enjoy the app I can get creative for a good price monthly. I get different creative tools and such. What I do not like is that there is no Auto save and it crashes often causing me to start back over ALOT. Which is way it gets 3 out of 5 Stars.

I had the original Vanillapen poster app that I downloaded 3-4 years ago. I paid for the advanced version probably 2 years ago. I found it a fairly pleasant app to work with and worth the $3 or $4 I paid for the upgrade. THEN, an update rolled through several months ago. A COMPLETE OVERHAUL that turned the poster app into a DESIGN APP. Where’d my $4 investment go? Because suddenly I’ve got a very different app that wants a monthly fee for more stuff. Which is cool stuff, granted, but I’m not paying $4.99 per MONTH to use it. The app also freezes and crashes frequently. I do find it has become a bit more cumbersome to use than the original Vanillapen poster app. I also notice that there is what appears to be the previous Vanillapen poster app in the store but it wants $4.99 to download. What?? I’m so confused. And sometimes a bit exasperated.

I paid for the premium version in 2017 which was a one time payment of $4.99 plus tax. It gave me the ability to make Instagram posters without their mark. Then they switched to an overprice subscription service and knocked me back to their regular app which they updated. But the update is confusing and it will no longer allow me to upload photos from my album. No longer a cool app ?

It seems as though they’ve compromised a lot of the ease of use in order to achieve a certain aesthetic. I used to have no problem navigating this and creating images, but now it’s so minimal and vague it’s difficult to navigate. I have spent most of my time since this new design came out clicking on icons and opening things to see where it takes me since they removed helpful words and the more obvious indicators. So far I’ve attempted to create at least a half a dozen images, and have yet to finish one because it’s so time consuming to guess which random shape I need to click on to get what I need. I’d have given this 4-5 stars a year ago, but now I’m just ready to delete and find a new app.

This app is very dope. But in the middle of projects it freezes. Would be 5 stars to me but the freezing and starting over is annoying.

Horrible and full of bugs

You can’t copy/paste into the text box, and if you use this for prose or poetry it gets frustrating to have to type it all out through the app, especially since there’s no word-wrap. You can’t move the cursor to change/delete a word, you have to delete everything in the way. You can’t use this to profit, so if you used this app to create poetry WITH YOUR OWN PHOTOS you can’t sell them. It crashes all the time and the text and background become misaligned when you save. This is junk. Don’t waste your time or money.

So, I have used this app for years and love using it. I really love the new update as the format is very easy to use and figure out, that is if you are curious enough to start clicking buttons to see what they do. The new layout is just beautiful and classy, and the color scheme is professional and vibrant. My only problem with this app is that it crashes and glitches A LOT. There needs to be an update or two to fix this. I would love to be able to use the app longer than 5 minutes without it crashing. Aside from this one fact, I do love the app and will continue to use. ?
