This was an average game! My actual rating is a generous 3.5 stars. At this point we appreciate the trials again, but we want better games. In addition, BigFish, please get your quality assurance under control. This game was glitchy! There were positive aspects to the game. I love New Orleans and the Art Deco period. The storyline was simple. There was no journal but objectives were regularly updated. The graphics were not fantastic; I wish they had been more vibrant and less cartoonish. You couldn't customize settings. Inventory was labeled and there were complex items to assemble. Loading was instantaneous between locations and there was a marked (if so chosen in settings) teleport map to transport you. At each location you must find a collectible Mardi Gras mask. I was thrilled not to have morphing objects or other collections. The HO puzzles had a little variation but were pretty unremarkable. It was a good thing you at times could play match-3 instead because I found it extremely difficult to combine inventory. There were a decent variety of puzzles and games: some of dexterity, others rotational and some codes. At least I wasn't so bored that I skipped them all. I did enjoy the camera and developing laboratory. In the bonus adventure you have a forensics kit. Surprisingly there were no rats, not that anyone warned me, but Dracyy hadn't played yet! I deducted stars for length (it was a short game), lack of a cohesive journal, and quality assurance (the game was slightly glitchy)! Happy New Year, DTE! Let's hold BigFish and other distributors to the highest standards this year as part of our New Year's resolutions! Forget weight! Nobody ever sticks to that one, lol! Lynxie sends lots of ?❤? to KimTwilight, Izzyoc, Dracyy and the rest of the team!

Not happy and extremely irritated!

I'm in the Carter house and I took a picture. I went to the darkroom to develop the stupid photo and it said "I don't have the negatives." I went back to the screen I was on and I pressed on some doors and it said, "Let's see that photo." I pressed the hint button and it directed me to the darkroom. What?! Now I can't finish the game! Fix this so I can finish the game or give me my money back!

Immersive and intriguing!

I love this game and how it took advantage of the New Orleans ambience. Gameplay was very lengthy (6-7 hours with bonus chapter). There were a huge number of scenes, each with extraordinary detail. I was particularly impressed by the mini games, which were specific to the scenery, challenging, and truly innovative. The game is a little dated, but in this case the game would've been an absolute five if I played it three or four years ago. If the graphics were a bit sharper, the HOP touch screen were less squishy, and difficulty were customizable, I'd give it a five today. My true rating is a 4.5, and I recommend it without hesitation.

I really like it

I wasn't sure about getting this game because of some of the earlier reviews but i'm glad I did. The graphics are a little cartoon like but that doesn't bother me at all. I like the story and all the mini games fit the Sean which is nice. I also like the fact that it has a transporting map so you are not going back and forth constantly. The clues make sense and I have only had to use the hint button twice. It took me a minute to figure out that in order to go back to the dark room you have to push the bulb next to the hint button but besides that I have found this game to be very enjoyable.

Seems very dated

The graphics are okay, but not great. The game is pretty lame. Develop a picture? Okay. HO scene has black spots were items go? Very lame. Go outside. Talk to an old woman. Get a charm. Lame. All in all, a pretty dull, lifeless game that seems like it was developed many years ago. I'll pass.

Great game except for glitch in bonus chapter!

This was a great game with all the standard features like a transporting map, collectibles, and a variety of hidden objects and mini-games. I enjoyed the New Orleans setting, and loved the characters and dialogue. I had no glitches in the main game at all, but if you don't get the ice tongs from the second murder scene in the bonus chapter before you move to the hospital front, you can't finish. Bummer!

I did like the story behind this hidden object game, but the objects that I was supposed to combine together didn't work often. I would have to tap it several times. Then I would tap an area to go too and it wouldn't work so I kept thinking I was incorrect and I'd hit my hint button to find out I already hit it but it wasn't taking me to that area. Then some of the hidden object games were difficult, I played in casual mode but throughout the whole game not one area or item glimmered or lit up to inform me of where to touch!!! I play tons of these games and this one was in the top five worse ones.

Can't finish game

I'm stuck on chapter 6 at the shed at the Carter's house. I can't develop the photo required to open the door. Getting the message "no negatives to develop". I can only give this game 1 star until this glitch is fixed.
