Great game!

ProjectIX

Now don’t get me wrong, this is an amazing game and an amazing port that was well done and I appreciate you giving me the chance to replay some of my favorite older games. Now the reason I gave it 4 stars has nothing to do with the game itself. The reason is because after all these games you’ve ported over to mobile, you have yet to port The Legend of Dragoon. How you have not ported this game and taken my money is astounding and I cannot give any of your games a 5 star rating until you do.

Love this game and the music

Incredible and original

PlayHowYouFeel

Tri ace made 2 of my favorite rpgs ever, this and star ocean 2. The story, characters and the gameplay are all phenomenal here and it all translates well to the touchscreen. The vibe of this game is unique and should be experienced by every rpg fan. Can’t recommend enough, just buy it.

Priceless masterpiece

Caitsits

This is one of the rpg of all time that didn’t get much attention, if you have not played this then you are missing out!

Surprise, but a welcome one

This brings back tons of memories! I grew up playing JRPGs, on Nintendo NES, Sega Genesis, Gameboy Advanced, Sony Playstation, PSP, you name it. This game is the BEST JRPG in my humble opinion, and it is under rated! I am in the middle of chapter 3 now. It is every bit the same as the PSP version!

Best way to play VP in 2018

Megabeau

I was hesitant at first as the touch controls aren’t the best, but overall this is probably the best way to play Valkyrie Profile in 2018. The graphics are pixel perfect and the touch controls for the menu and battle system work well. There are also a lot of tutorials in the menu system to explain aspects of the game. My main problem is with the touch controls during the exploration and platforming section aren’t very sharp. Overall though, this doesn’t detract from the overall greatness of VP.

Wonderful Game a So So Port

I’ll go with the positives first then the cons. Pro: Amazing classic game for new or older gamers that want that nostalgia of Square 90’s games of long past. Very deep story line, a lot of younger kids might not get into it for how slow it can be, but hang in there the story is definitely rich with all sorts of realism! Fighting mechanic is fast pace and a definite welcome and change from the norm. Great combo system at first you feel like you’re just tapping away but you’ll learn its all about finding the right loot to max out the most combo! Con: The porting on this.. yet again squares mobile department does not test their apps it feels before release. I think they make sure it runs somewhat okay but push the game a little and you’ll notice it’ll start to do some odd breaks. on iPad Pro 12.5in, half the time the the buttons will not respond on the game at all, even after resetting the game. iPhone X, well it feels much better on the phones, sadly not totally optimize for the X... feel like I bought an older app. Controls are clunky like a cheap MAME emulator you get from android roms. Why I’m rating this 3 stars, there is no reason for a company like square to not check their bugs over and over before releasing and charging 15 bucks for the game. I love the game but sadly the bugs take away the beautiful experience that this game is.

Ther is a problem

What I’d expect from Square Enix

Vazmyr

I’m a huge Final Fantasy fan who enjoyed the franchise starting from the PlayStation era (from FFVII-FFXIII Trilogy). Never got to play the Valkyrie Profile series and had not even heard of it until a few years ago. Lenneth is a refreshing reminder of the good ole days of the Enix (SquareSoft at the time). The storyline is reminiscent of Square’s 90’s JRPG’s. Already on 2nd playthrough for the perfect ending (FAQ’s required it seems!). Loving the darker storyline side of Square revolving supernatural and mythical themes of afterlife, self-sacrifice and heroism (fallacy or not). Norse mythology OP. Interesting format of gameplay progression (Periods). Could’ve been inspiration for FFXIII-3’s “limited time” progression perhaps? Idk - it’s definitely unique. The Valkyries remind me a lot of Lightning in XIII as well (always the dutiful warrior turned rebel). A recurring character archetype in Enix games it seems to be. Some of the controls during the side scrolling is a bit clunky and frustrating. The Crystals needed to traverse into some areas can get frustrating, esp if you’re OCD about obtaining all dungeon treasures. The voice acting is too much tbh ?. Dungeon Maps are annoying to navigate with (esp @ Lezard’s Tower when you need it most!) but it’s cool. Not really complaining though - it’s a fun game! Truly a rare gem that you won’t want to transfer to Odin!
