Members of all branches of the U.S. military are eligible to receive the medal, and each service has a unique design with the exception of the Marine Corps and Coast Guard, which both use the Navy's medal. The Medal of Honor is often presented personally to the recipient or, in the case of posthumous awards, to next of kin, by the President of the United States. Due to its honored status, the medal is afforded special protection under U.S. law.
As the award citation includes the phrase "in the name of Congress", it is sometimes erroneously called the Congressional Medal of Honor, however the official title is the Medal of Honor.
Now with "US Medal of Honor" application you will able to browse the information about 3,500+ Medals of Honor awarded to the nation's soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, and coast guardsmen since the decoration's creation in 1861.
Search recipients by name, rank, year and place of action, see their details and citation.
Enjoy!

Thought I was getting something worthwhile. Turns out to be a vague and incomplete listing of MOH recipients. Should stick with Wikipedia or Google. At least they're free.
Disappointed with this app. I expected a lot more information on our Nation's highest honor for combat bravery. I fully concur with the latest reviewer's comments. Lastly, this app is missing the last 2 recent living honorees: SFC Leroy Petry and Cpl Dakota Meyer. At least they're on Wikipedia.
Great ap for searching heros. Some are missing but no other ap available is this good.
Very user friendly and informative. Would like to see more photos other than that its great. A must for any military buff.
App works fine until you want to actually read about the recepients. Crashes!
Great app but missing a few names of some men who should be given the respect they earned
