I used to use RedLaser and then ZBar to scan bar codes at work, for inventory. It was easy - all I needed was a simple way to grab the code save it for later. New version suddenly started to crash every time I scan a Code 39 bar code. What’s worse, it saves the code, so now it crashes instantly as soon as I open the app. I can’t clear the code or use it for anything else. I do not need the scanner to look up info on the code. All I want it to do is scan, then give me the option to take an action - otherwise, how do I know any given code is safe to scan?

In a world where everyone expects a buck for scanning a dang qr code, this app does it for free!

It won't work on my iPhone 5s. It crashes constantly. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I shut down my phone and turned it on nothing works.

iPhone 5S, IOS 8.3. It scans my barcodes and then crashes back to Home. I can open the app again and my scanned items are listed. However, selecting any causes the app to crash back to Home.
