Free trial?

I was offered 7 day trial, however 2 days later I’m charged for the whole year. I hope my refund will be processed as I just wanted to check out this app.

I have some trouble.. can you help?

Do I require a Apple Pencil to use? Also, do I need to pay to use it? When you reply, I’ll give my real review depending on what you say.

Loving uMake with iPad Pro 3rd gen and iOS 12!

Sengoku_us

Ver 3.5.0 I’m impressed with this new update. The ability to import SketchUp files is a bonus as it opens up more options to import files that I am not able to create as yet. The new camera views are a must have for me. Makes it easier and quicker to get new angles of views that I use in creating my comic. Big shout out to Evi for listening and implementing this (from Depressed Kiwi). Hopefully the new basics videos and introduction video upon first launching the app after updating will help the users who have left reviews about having trouble using this app. It does take time and patience to learn how to use this app. Once you get the hang of it, it can be very rewarding to show people your creations! Ver 3.4.1 Loving the 3D chamfer tool. Makes it easier to do some designs (compared to before). I’m now using an iPad Pro 3rd gen with iOS 12.4.1 and am not experiencing the issues I had previously (my 3.1 review below). I still get the occasional exit to the home screen. But this is due to me using too much memory for the designs I’m making and not a fault of uMake. I was hoping Apple would have released an iPad Pro 4th Gen with more ram but couldn’t wait anymore. Ver 3.1 No problems with this version. Well apart from the issues with iOS 13 that is. Which is Apples fault and not uMakes. Currently running on an iPad Pro 1st gen with iOS 13.2.3 Hopefully iOS 13.3 fixes this (basically memory management and touch responsiveness). Ver 3.0.1 The exporting photos bug is now fixed! I can now export at 2048x1537 on my iPad Pro 1st generation (this may be different depending on device). Really impressed with the uMake team for getting the fix out so quickly! 5 stars! Ver 3.0 Just a word of warming for those of you who use the “export to photo” function within the app. It has gone from exporting photos in 2048x1537 to 1024x1024. This in on my iPad Pro first generation. It might be different for other devices. So if you need to export at a higher resolution please hold off from updating until it is confirmed that this is a bug or a new feature going forward. I’ve submitted a ticket from within the app and also started a new thread on the uMake forums. Will update this review when I have more information. Update for Ver 3.0 Thanks to support, it has been confirmed a bug and an update will be out soon. In the meantime I’ve downgraded back to ver 2.12 (again thanks to support).

Needed a subscription

I downloaded this app because I’m in ag mech at my school. I’m building a trailer and I wanted to design it while I was on the go because I don’t have a computer. The app looked like it was great, but when I tried using the tools it kept saying that I needed a subscription. Really this app is just for aesthetics if you don’t buy a subscription. I would 100% use this app if a subscription wasn’t required.

Not for 3D Printing!

BuddySteve

If you just want to create a 3D model for viewing, this is great! BUT, if you plan on printing your creation on a 3D printer, forget it! You are much better off using Blender or Fusion360 for that on a PC/Mac computer/tablet! I had created a 3D model and after hours of modeling my creation, I find that it has all sorts of printing errors that I cannot fix or is way over my head to fix! Well, it was fun while it lasted to think this was going to work! Back to Fusion360! :(

Can’t get past the first screen... says I need stable internet connection for using it for the first time... I know my internet is prime. Even without it, cellular should be enough to run an app... was looking forward to some dope designs but came out disappointed instead... lmk if you ID the problem or resolve it

Doesn’t let me draw

safana zahed

So I was actually really exited and wanted to make a ring for my mom. But then it dint let me draw, nor let me change pens.

Great app - out of control pricing

Dawnpwns

I loved the app and did want to keep it. I might have considered even $100 one time free but per year this is just simply a lot for an app. Will watch it and see if it becomes reasonable at some point

Hard to work with and pricy

The money you have to pay per month is over what I’m willing to pay also it has a couple of glitches and has a terrible interface.
