Amazing Content, 1 Serious Flaw

pmcelgunn

TuneIn has an amazing breadth of content and is the ONLY option if you're looking for unlimited audiobooks included in your monthly subscription. All other streaming audiobook platforms (Audible, Downpour, Scribd, etc) only give include 1-2 audiobooks in your monthly subscription and then make you pay extra for any audiobooks over that each month. I consume approx 10 hours of podcast content per week and have just gotten into audiobooks. I love reading but find it increasingly difficult to set aside time to read physical books. Being able to listen to books while working out, commuting, and at work is a game changer for me and why I specifically decided on TuneIn over all other services out there. I'm a huge Steelers fan too but can't get all the games since I'm in Michigan. Being able to listen to the radio broadcast of those games I can't watch beats paying several hundred dollars for NFL Sundays Ticket hands down! The biggest disappointment, in my opinion, is the lack of a 1.5x and 2x replay speed option (where appropriate - I recognize its not possible for live streaming sports or radio). To me this is a basic feature of podcast and audiobook platforms and I can't figure out why TuneIn hasn't integrated this into the app yet. As I mentioned previously, I consume about 10 hours of podcast content and finished 2 audiobooks in 1 week on top of that. The way I'm able to do this is by listening to everything on 1.5x or 2x speed. Due to the lack of this feature I still use Apple's Podcast app to listen to all my podcasts. As soon as TuneIn adds this feature they will be the best audio app on the market hands-down. At that point I'll upgrade my rating to 5 stars and migrate all my audio content listening (radio, podcast, audiobook, and sports) to their app. Until then I'll have to split my time between multiple apps to get the features and value I'm looking for.

The best app for sports, music and talk!

App still crashes when doing ANYTHING else

sbrnhrdt

And the app still, crashes every time you pause it and do literally anything else. It crashes if you pause it, turn the screen off and come back to it minutes later. It crashes if you pause it, and open another app and come back to it minutes later. Basically, it crashes if you pause it and do ANYTHING else. It's awful. This is only true with the last 3 or 4 updates. Before then, it was great. 5 stars. Now, it's quite frustrating.

DON'T BUY THIS CRAPY APP

Mpochin

One year ago I reported a bug. Now 1 year and 10 upgrades later is still not fixed. It advertise that I records but that not true it doesn't record custom url. With today's upgrade the had a genius idea to put ads in the paid app which I bought not to have adds. Not only that they didn't mention that on their upgrade description so it a scan. I am fed up dealing with them I will buy another radio app and also report the advertising scam to Apple.

Car play

The app is good and all that but it doesn't support CarPlay anymore why is that

Annoying ad placement. CarPlay stopped working.

I've used this app for years. It really does a pretty good job of putting the world's radio at your fingertips. But recently they seem to have become clumsy about letting their ads interrupt the content. And they also seem to have dropped CarPlay support. I only wish there was a viable alternative to make gem try a little bit harder.
