Most Loved App

I use this app for everything from journaling to meeting notes to capturing and scheduling important to-dos. It's also extremely flexible in terms of how you want to use it and adapt it to your own personal style and needs. This is an awesome app. It's one of my top 5 most used / favorite apps!

Most used ipad app for writing

I have been using this for a couple years now for taking notes on projects personal and work related. The wiki format is great, syncing plain text files with dropbox is perfect, and when it works the Text Expander support is super handy. That last bit is my only ongoing qualm with Trunk Notes, as Text Expander support keeps failing on either iPhone or iPad, and sometimes in both. I've also had major syncing issues since I'm up to several dozen files, maybe 100+ at this point. Not sure if that's on Dropbox's diffing/syncing mechanism or Trunk Notes, just something to be aware of. So long as you back up regularly, restoring in Dropbox (via the web) isn't too bad a thing. With Text Expander support this app is a 5. UPDATE: guys, can we see about getting Text Expander support back? It's been a while now (probably a 6-12 mos since I wrote that review)

I heart

I found it to be buggy. Sometimes when editing and your trying to scroll up to the point you wish to work on. Mid way up it glitches and takes you back to the bottom. So you can never get up to any where near the top. When editing and you find the point you wish to edit. Tapping it to point the cursor. Puts the cursor there but the page moved. And you edit point is sometimes all the way at the bottom of the screen. If you encrypted a document. And you click on edit. It gives you a warning that the password has been removed for this document. A it doesn't tell you your document is gone. It is now saved empty. {{toc}} table of contents works for a single document. Which is fine I guess. But long documents get really hard to work on. Lost of scrolling up and down and finding your spot. You can use the toc to quickly get to each section. But once you edit you at the bottom and have to scroll up and find that spot. And as I stated about. Scrolling sometimes glitches. Searches. Do not search encrypted pages even after your password is entered. Always save your changes and return to a non encrypted page before leaving the app. I've lost documents by not doing this. And I even have one document that was encrypted but the app doesn't know it's encrypted. So it shows up as garbage. So glad it doesn't auto sync. Because when it messes up a document. I go to my other device and make a copy of document on there so it doesn't loose it when I do sync. When I open the app on an encrypted page. I usually only see a white page. I have scroll down to get the link to enter a password. The list of pages does tell you which pages you have encrypted. Nor does it tell you size of documents. Only the last edit date.

Wow, I love this app. I looked into other iOS wiki apps and was never satisfied. Trunk Notes is simple to learn to use. It has many features, but you can easily create an entire wiki without knowing the more complex functions. What can I say about improving it? Well, I would like to see an option to save multiple projects. I am a writer, and this has become my go-to app for organizing my notes about characters, locations, and such. It would be very helpful to be able to switch between projects I'm working on as there is usually more than one. Keep up the good work!

Almost perfect

So many names are taken

Has everything I wanted except a redirect function, like the one on Wikipedia. If it had that, this app would be perfect.

My #1 App

I started using this about 3+ years ago. I got a Nexus tablet just to see if there was a reason to switch, and while there are many equivalent apps in the Droid world, there is nothing like Trunk Notes! It's not intimidating to get started, but there are so many really great options, that I am still adding new customizations. The one I did this week was to create a snippet called x and then when I type xxx within a note, it puts a checkbox there. But the one I think everyone should do is to tag your notes (allows multiple tags per note), then include {{tagcloud}} and {{untagged}} within your Trunk Note homepage.

Buggy

Crashes and had a weird scrolling glitch. It was a waste of my money. I will be deleting this app.

My Favorite App!

By far this is my most used and favorite app. I keep all my notes in it and have used the scripting functions to tie them together into a very useful Wiki. This is a very useful app to just keep your notes in, but the app really shines when you start to utilize the scripting functions and ability to build a Wiki using the HTML and CSS capabilities. I recommend it to anyone that is willing to take the time to learn the details.

Awesome!

Here's the deal... I love this app! I use wikidpad on my computer but that doesn't work on my phone or ipad. So it's not quite as useful. This puppy, though, does the whole thing and works everywhere. Be warned it has a learning curve, probably more steep than the average app. This is a powerful notetaking software. I use this for everything. I keep track of totes in a storage unit, I keep notes for my creative work and my classes (I'm a teacher) as well as my own language learning. It's AMAZING. Puts other notetaking software to shame. I'm giving it three stars for 1 primary reason, the one reason I'm still hesitating from moving away from Wikidpad entirely: no alias/redirect function. I fell in love with this in wikidpad, and frankly I think it makes the app a little bit superior. For example, let's say I have a character in my novel called Name John. I want trunk notes to hyperlink every time I write "Name" but it will only link to other pages when I write the full name "Name John." Wikidpad has a feature where I can assign aliases to individual pages to, essentially give each page multiple names. A simpler alternative of a redirecting function would somewhat solve this. Please do this! It would make this app 5 stars!
