Seller Beware!

The app clearly states they will not share your contact info until you accept an offer. It also states they will bid for 24 hours. After about 5 hours I started receiving phone calls from the person who believed they were buying my car for a steal of a deal that I never accepted.

I was able to sell the car using the app. The app itself is very easy to use and does a great job making it easy to describe the car. The dealer experience could vary based on who you get. True car customer service was great.

My experiences with the service and their help line were terrible. 1) The app clearly states that your personal information will not be shared with the buyer until you review and accept the offer. That is not true. They immediately share your contact information with a dealer who wants to buy your car. 2) You have no control over your information or account as a user. The system does not include standard options for a web service including the ability to delete your post (and its data) or delete your account (and all your data). 3) In my case at least, the offer was $3000 below what I was offered in person at a dealer (and of course an additional couple thousand less than what the same car is selling for in the private market). I recommend staying away and telling everyone you know to do so too.

I was able to get an offer much more than the carmax trade in offer. And the dealership experience was great too, in and out fast without any problem.

Lengthy process for getting my vehicle listed for sale on the app. only to have no offers. Re-installed app and it crashed 24hrs later. Not a good tool for serious sellers.

Update to 11/10/15 post What an awesome company. TrueCar Sell made good on its dealer’s bid! TruCar Sell stepped up and paid the difference since Carphoria, its highest bidder, refused to honor its bid. A typo is not an excuse not to honor a guaranteed bid. I will definitely get another bid from TrueCar Sells next time I need to sell a car. Thank you TrueCar :) 11/10/15 original review Arg! The winning bid is NOT obligated to buy your car! My "guaranteed" bid was not honored because the bidder "made a typo" and said they didn't intend to bid as high as they did. TrueCar Sell said they are supposed to honer the offer, but is not legally obligated to. Turned down potential buyers thinking my car had sold! Very very frustrating!

Pretty and Straightforward To Use, Keep in Mind

I like how the app looks and how pages load quickly. It has a barcode scanner to determine VIN codes so you aren't typing it in digit by digit. I just wish I could use photos I've already taken to post and point out damage. That the only stickler that is holding back a 5 star rating :/

Please make it where you can just upload existing pictures. Don't have it force you to learn how to take the best pictures of your car from all these angles.
