Trees Pro HD

Yung Ari

A wonderful app! Not only can you search for, learn more about, and take notes on trees, but you can also take the quiz on trees. Choose your favorite trees, see real photographs, and also learn about the leaves. A spectacular app for anyone interested in trees. But there do need to be dogwoods!

Good concept, but the tree selection is downright pitiful.

Would be a lot more useful if you could sort by state, or even region. As it is you can only narrow it down to north America.

Great for classroom

jmscience

I am a K-8 science teacher and I found this app very useful and the kids enjoyed using it. The students enjoyed the variety of pictures and the "worth knowing" section. I appreciated the sketches of the leaves and fruit, made classification easy for my students.

Nice app.

Only wish they would break it down into more specific regions, not just list habitat as Europe and North America. Where specifically in N. America??? I do like this app though - helps me identify trees in my line of work. Wish they'd come up with trees by region - e. g. Trees of NE USA, or trees of Western USA, etc.

Not very useful

MarcGoldring

I was looking for a tree guide that was akin to iBird Pro and I was willing to pay for it. Granted this app is free, but 40 species? Am I missing something? Honestly, I didn't get far enough with this to see what info is available for various trees - because it couldn't find any of the common trees I checked, like oak or beech. Heavens!

First you pay for app and they provide a very limited selection. But, you can buy more. Wasted money.

Descent

This app isn't all that bad. For $5.98 you can get a lot more trees and its not really a waste of money if you'll use it. From other reviews many people complain of limited specific distributions and one can only look at trees according to continent and this is true and I wish they would upgrade for this issue to where at least you can look at species native to states/provinces. Also, the app orders the trees in alphabetical order using common name, which is fine for people that do not need or care about scientific names, but they should upgrade for an option to sort species by scientific names. Also, they should expand with a larger tree database and also list diseases common to each species under the trees description with pictures showing those diseases if possible. Overall this app is more for just general use and not for real professional field work. However, this is something they could easily change with work and I hope they do.

Not a botanist

Shazah99990

I'm not a botanist, I'm not really even sure if that matters. What I am sure about is that this helps regular people identify tree species. Sure if you need an encyclopedia of trees and their scientific names this app might not be for you. Though for regular people with regular yards, plants and parks this app is great. Thank you app people for bringing to light something most people over look, trees.
