I stopped at a Family Mart to install this app, but ended up uninstalling it again because I couldn’t get past the first “Terms of use” page. Horrible user experience.

Doesn’t give you WiFi ?

So I was going to go to Japan for 2 weeks and I found this app on the way so I thought I would get WiFi but the app was so confusing I didn’t even know how what to do.The other problem was that it said that there was 200,000 hotspots but they were not working so it is very useless.

Convenient and Easy

If you are ok with installing the profile then this is an excellent way to get free WiFi. You just need to register once and as long as a network is in the list it will automatically connect you. Currently there are 31 networks listed in the profile certificate as of Oct 2019. If you don’t want to install a profile you can use the app to connect. If you don’t want to use the app then you will need to register each time you connect. This is amazing and so convenient. Prior my trips to (2017) there was barely any free WiFi networks, but since the country is preparing for the olympics there has been a significant push in free WiFi infrastructure. I just wished I knew about this app at the beginning of my trip.

Works Fine

I tried to get on WiFi in a Tokyo Starbucks and it directed to this an an app. It let me use the Starbucks WiFi to download the app via the “Apple store”. I gave it an email, which is a spam sponge anyway and I don’t care, and it started working. Good enough to chat, check email, and look at maps.

Sort of works

The only thing this app is good for is that it installs a Wi-Fi profile for wi2 premium service which uses WPA but otherwise most of the networks are a bunch of already free networks. At least it let’s you skip the landing page which isn’t bad at all but really I don’t see any other value. To use the app you need to register but the problem is to register the only choices are Facebook and Weibo profiles that you can go link. There is no email option. Therefore I would install the app get the profile then delete the app.

Waste of time

Don’t get this app. Literally to use it, it said I needed a WiFi connection... furthermore, when I did have a connection (that I was able to get for free just by testing random open WiFi networks) this app would say that “you are not in Japan”

Good app and helps a lot! This app is more common in Japan. So I recommend to people who looks for good wi-fi ??

Works fine

App works fine, it overcomes barriers to using WiFi in Japan. While there are lots of WiFi hotspots, they only work if you have a local carrier. This app helps overcome that, it’s only for tourists, so download before you come over. It’s finicky to get working, you need to change carrier settings. Remember what you’re doing because you have to remove that profile when you get home or your phone won’t work in the states. I always forget how to do it and when I land stateside I have the headache of trying to research the solution without an internet connection. Same thing when in Japan, you can’t use WiFi to download this - chicken and egg problem. That’s why you need to get it before you come over.
