Really good at recognizing text. Actual translation uses Google Translate, so I wouldn't rely to heavily. Specifically for translating from Japanese, it's a great tool for scanning, then copying and pasting text into Jisho.
Difficult to use

The app is not at all intuitively defined. When scanning a photo the app does not indicate whether you must select the language the document is in or the language into which you would like the text to be translated. Very confusing.

I love this app it really does work. I was on a trip and we were confused what was on the menu so after searching I found this app witch was already rated 4 and a half stars. After downloading it and trying it out it worked great!!! Some words don't come out clear but you can still figure it out!! Really worth it.
