See title. This used to be my go to map app for mountain biking. I understand the need for cash flow but you really screwed the pooch with this one. Try again. I may reconsider and another two or three versions. (my wife wants to know who I’ complaining to: people that f????d up trail forks because they made it unusable).

One of the recent updates has taken previously free features and monetized them. I’m heading back to MTBproject.

No longer provides basic trail information (like names or distance or map) without subscription. Does not work properly, even with subscription.

With the new update Trailforks require you pay $3 dollars a month to access all trails. Free users now only get a city wide area of trails for free. This is possibly the worst things to ever happen to this app, I ride everywhere now I can only see trails for one area! What deranged moron thought this was a good idea. Who hurt you people?

I initially enjoyed this as a rudimentary assist to find rides and navigate, but now bc Trailforks has removed a bunch of features and limited the area to an absurdly small region—Trailforks is CRAP. Now I can hardly access any trails without an upgrade to a paid subscription. I’m definitely going to stop recommending this to other riders (hikers/runners etc) on the trail.

This app was created with basic trail information, and filled in by users over years of use. They now charge those users who gave them their content a subscription fee to take advantage of the exact same features that were available for free. If you’re going to charge, add features worth charging for. Don’t charge us money for info that WE contributed to the app. Switching to MTBproject, OSM, Strava, etc...

Now you can get Pro and pay for YOUR data - WOOOOW! Hey trail forks, good job capitalizing on all that USER SUBMITTED data! Now I get to spend $36 a year to access all the data that I’ve given you.

And just like strava and their update for subscription only...I’m gone. Everyone should use MTB project if they want FREE.

I deleted the app and then loaded an older version of the app. (You do keep older versions around, don't you.). I am now running v1.3.3 and no longer get the nag to update and it works jult as it did in the old days.
