Addicting but not a lot of reward

While this is an addicting game, the fact that you you don't earn lives or gold bars or anything is ridiculous. I get in app purchasing, the app wants to make money but when that's the only option for the whole game, that's a rip-off. I'm on level 259 and have had the same 15 gold bars since the beginning. Let's throw in that the max lives you can have is 5 and it takes 25 minutes to regenerate 1 new life. Why????
