Walking Simulator

Thrilldo

I have never written a review before but I was so disappointed that I had to do one for this game. All these other reviews are raving about how good the story was. I found it to be lacking. It was funny at times, but it was mostly a bunch of groaners. There is very little gameplay here. It is mostly a bunch of cut scenes. I appreciate that someone put a lot of work into this (it at least looks pretty). So for anyone that is into these types of games, this is for you. It wasn’t for me.

Love this game so much!

SkylerMcKenzie19

Since the first time I watched PewDiePie play this game awhile back I have loved it recently I bought it to play on my own, and I made it pretty far into the game before I ran into trouble with the game unfortunately, for some reason when I got to nasa with Neil and Eva near the end of the game when you have to go to the 3rd floor and talk to Johnny in the bedroom to get a link the ghost and Johnny are not there and I’ve tried everything to trigger them to be there but there isn’t much I can do and I believe there is a glitch in the game making them not be there please fix this issue soon so I can get Johnny to the moon.

its worth buying..

tttttttttiiiiaaaaaaaaaaannnaaa

its really good..but youll have to buy it to know for yourself ;)

An Emotional Experience

Moi dubbed

As many people have stated, it’s very emotional. Playing through the game, I had experienced pain, sadness, and joy. The game is fun, not very challenging at any point. However, it makes up in the emotional feelings you will feel towards the characters. As there’s no spoilers here, play and see what happens. Unless you are very sensitive and/or don’t want a game like this. I enjoy the controls here and thing they made an amazing mobile port from the PC. I enjoy the music and story also. 100/10 would recommend to anyone wanting a casual play.

So much soul

This is unlike any other video game story I’ve ever played. The characters, music and story don’t seem like they will come together to tug your heartstrings at first, but give it time. The tasks are sometimes difficult and tedious, but even that is part of the story, reminding you that this is tedious work for Eva and Neil. If you have lost a family member or loved one, this will give you such a wonderful experience, and encourage some deep introspection. I was caught off guard by how deeply this touched me, I couldn’t put it down. Find a few hours where you can turn down the lights and hear the rain on your window and engage in this story. You won’t be sorry.

Not a game, just a movie

SadEyedLady

Look, I liked the story and am glad I watched it, but I could’ve watched a 5 minute trailer for the game and come away as fulfilled. This is NOT a game. There are a few *extremely* easy puzzles and lots of walking around touching stuff which results in dialogue and cut-scenes. Neat idea, but not a game. A very *slightly* interactive movie, and that is all.

Cute little game

Ash6427086

Overall the playthrough was enjoyable. Story was interesting enough and had a decent buildup. I liked the character dialogue. The puzzles weren’t anything special and seemed to be there just for the player to do something else besides move around. Music was nice, although a little repetitive at times. A couple things seemed unexplained but nothing critical. The ending did get a little tedious

I’m crying it’s so good!!!

There Are No Words for How Beautiful This Game Is

To The Moon just might be my favorite game in all existence, although it is less of a game in the traditional sense and more of an interactive story than anything. I honestly can’t imagine living without this game it’s made such an impression on me. It’s definitely worth the money- and this is coming from someone who never wants to pay for apps (I bought this with a gift card.) I’ve owned To The Moon for two whole years now and I still haven’t gotten sick of it. The characters are all fun and memorable, the music is gorgeous and I love the chemistry between Neil and Eva, our two protagonists. The writing is stellar (no pun intended) as well and the game is long enough to really get you invested in the storyline without dragging on. I’ve yet to play this game without crying. Just be warned, however- a lot of the negative reviews claim this game to be “boring,” and for some people it may be. To be fair, it isn’t very exciting in terms of gameplay- all you do is guide around the two doctors as they look for different items to create a “memory link” and proceed to Johnny’s next memory. The hardest thing you’ll have to face is solving a simple puzzle once all five memory links are located. If you appreciate a good story and don’t mind a slower-paced, story-driven game, buy this right now- you won’t regret it. However, if you’re looking for something more quick-paced and action-packed, this is probably not the game for you. That doesn’t mean you won’t like it, though- this is the first story-driven game I’ve had experience with, and let’s just say I fell in love. It just means that if you don’t happen to enjoy the game, this is probably why. No game is perfect and no game can please everyone. And if you’re one of the people complaining about the controls, there’s a PC version with controls you might like better. In conclusion, I highly recommend this game to anyone who happens to stumble across it. It’s introduced me to a whole new world of games I didn’t even know were out there. Whenever I’m bored, this game is there to pick me up, and when I’m sad, it helps me straighten out my feelings. I just love to play this curled up in bed with the lights off and the window open, staring up at the moon and imagining Johnny there, his life’s goal fulfilled. It almost makes me want to fly to the moon myself, which hopefully will be possible within my lifetime. And if not, maybe I’ll have a Dr. Watts and Rosaline to send me there in my mind instead. ———————————————————— P.S. If you do happen to like this game, there are two (yes, two!) sequels- A Bird Story and Finding Paradise! A Bird Story is much shorter than To The Moon and is meant to bridge the gap between this game and Finding Paradise. I haven’t gotten ahold of these ones yet but I’m told they both follow the same character, the doctors’ next patient, at different times in his life. These are not available on mobile yet, I’ll but I’ll try and play through them on Steam and edit my thoughts into this review when I’m done.

This game changed my life

9iota

It’s been 6 years since I first experienced this game, and it still stands as my favorite story of all time from ANY medium. It is close to narrative perfection and empowered with a beautiful and nostalgic original soundtrack. It’s a beautiful game through and through that will stick with me for the rest of my life. The experience than Kan Gao has crafted in this game is truly timeless and I believe that everyone should give this game a chance.
