This app has been fantastic for my son. I agree with the other reviewers that it reinforces incorrect pronunciation but hopefully that can be improved. It is one of if not the only app that is interactive and responds to kids speech! My son was shy about his language delay and wouldn't always use words in front of people. If the app had not encouraged him so much he may have given up even though his articulation was wrong at first. TigaTalk was so encouraging that he stuck with it!! Maybe they could create settings for early talkers (where any attempt is praised) and for more experienced talkers who just need articulation help the praise would be for correct pronunciation only. Please make more Tiga apps!

The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because I'v tried it on my dad's iPad and it worked fine. it seems to have problems with the iPhone 4S however, the microphone does not pick up anything for some reason. it's a waste of money for iPhone 4S

Given voice recognition technology, I think this app is a fail. It has the child say certain sounds, for example /m/. However, the child can say any sound at all, and it praises the child for getting it right. I would recommend using voice recognition software so a child only gets it correct if he pronounces it correctly. However, my nephew who has a phonological disorder loved it, and as long as I was near him and could reinforce him myself or shape his productions, it was useful.

It is a great app but it only works on sounds. You can say anything but the stimulus is at the phoneme level without the ability to repeat words. You have to tell your student what to say if you want words.

Got this for my son to encourage him to repeat sounds…and it does. but he can make any sound and it rewards him, not just the correct sound they are prompting. It worked fine for a few days until he completed the full run of lessons and games, and now (its been months actually) if we press play it crashes and goes back to the main screen on the iPad. we have to select menu and play the games individually. really annoying and EXTREMELY upsetting for my 2 year old.

Does not work. Lights turned green for correct sound when child was just talking and not even trying to produce sound. Would not recommend buying.
