Great show, terrible app

I have watched This Old House since I was a kid. Love the show, but their app is buggy and has no ability to cast to a tv. The app is either shutting down on its own, or changing between landscape and portrait orientation. When it does not shut down on its own, it stays in auto play mode. If you want to pick your video, there is no way to exit the video without shutting down the app. I tried fixing the problem by going to settings and durning off auto play, only there is no way to turn it off. The header is there for the option, but it is grayed out. This basically makes paying for insider useless, because who wants to TOH on their computer all the time?

Is there a way to show what you recently watched And maybe a future to go to the next show in line when the one your watching is over other then that enjoy the app and the classic shows

All this stuff is on YouTube! YT has far more detailed content with a much easier search functions to find specific videos.

No way to navigate back

I don’t know if I’m the only one experiencing this. But if I watch the video I have no way of getting back without closing the app. Using an iPad

Great app! Just to let you know the “What Is It” clip “Green Waterproof Bag with Air Vent” doesn’t play on my phone. The auto play is also a little buggy, it seems it picks random videos and if you watched a video once and it comes up it won’t play it again. You have to manually “catch” it and move the timeline back. But overall I love the app. Thank you!

“Unknown Error”

I can’t access the app anymore because of an “unknown error”. I have tried deleting and reinstalling. I have tried a new log in and password. Nothing is working except the billing department.

Content is great. App is amateur. 1. There is no way to close video when watching full screen. Must crash it. 2. No way to tell when new content is being released. 3. No video tracking. All of this and they constantly advertise that you need to become a paying member for an awesome experience? Work on the free version and I’ll subscribe in an instant.

Good App, But Could Be Better

I love that all 40+ seasons are available to watch BUT I wish it kept track of what was watched. The app doesn’t tell you what was watched so it can be a guessing game to determine which episodes were watched or are in progress. Also, along these lines, it would be nice to have a “Keep Watching” section for seamless transition from iPhone to Apple TV, for example.

I learned of the app watching This Old House on free TV. I’ve trusted This Old House for many years. When they said it was absolutely free I thought this is great I can binge watch on some episodes were I missed a few shows. I downloaded the app. When I went to try it you have to sign up for their insider to see anything. I’m all out of signing up. Also, they give you the option about following your usage to other websites. It gives two options “Ask not to follow activity” and “allow to follow”. Not “No do not follow” but ask them not to. Unacceptable. It’s none of their business where I go and what I do. Signing up for their app shows things that I’m interested in so they should need to go to other places. I love This Old House but they lost a lot of my respect how’s the way their app is run.

App is Ok. Outstanding idea. Just needs a few updates to help it relevant and help homeowners with their old house. Tweak the functionality. Outstanding resource for your “old house” which boils down to anything built before 1984 due to asbestos in floor and wall board, etc! The experts really are experts! Cannot say enough good stuff especially for Tommy Silva. Brilliant, knowledgeable, and humble.
