Worthless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eke downwind

Colossal waste of time! If you enjoy tracing your finger through random puzzles using trial-and-error with no apparent outcome, then you will love this game. If you don’t have a job, or friends, or a family, then you will love this game. If you enjoy an activity with as much productivity as punching your grandma in the face, then you will love this game. I would rather have given $9.99 to white supremicists than to the makers of this game!

Waste of money

mazzwiler

Repetitive, ugly, and pointless. Would like my money back please.

Update is ironic

“Fixed save game issues.” Meanwhile, in the middle of the game when it saves, it plays the loading screen and won’t load the save or let me change to a different save. Deleting and reinstalling just puts the save back on the game so that doesn’t work. Storage isn’t full because it said 2.5 Of 5 on iCloud. The only way that could even possibly let me play it anymore is turning off the iCloud Drive and staring at a screen for 7 hours straight without closing the app, because it would create extra saves. When I am done, I have to delete and reinstall without iCloud to get rid of the previous game saves.

Slowly falling in love

I am honestly not into repetitive puzzle game, and The Witness looks just like that, at first. The game starts out slow, presenting a segment of the world I am in where board-like puzzles are everywhere and solving them are absolutely crucial to advance. I wasn’t thrilled when my first impression was that it’s going to be like solving these puzzles in a beautiful park for the entire game. However, things start to impress me once I get to explore how vast, how mysterious, and how eye-poppingly beautiful the whole island is. There are moments I even think to myself, after seeing all kinds of beautifully created locations that I know a lot of love has been put into, that even just “sightseeing” around the entire island alone is already worth the money. Once I get intrigued by the beauty of the island, the puzzles become the reward of what I get to see and explore further. The story also unfolds slowly. The best part is: I have now come to love these board puzzles, for its ever-evolving nature throughout the game, and its cleverness put into them. This is not a game to binge, to play it all in one sitting. It’s a game to take it slow. Play it now and then. Solve some puzzles, walk around, enjoy Einstein’s quotes dubbed by an electrifying voice, and then put the game down for a while. Do that for a few days, and I can guarantee that you will walk away with something you love about this game.

Amazing Game, bad controls

So cool 44

The game itself is amazing and immersive, but is hampered by the controls. There needs to be some sort of control stick to make it a much more smooth experience. At least an option to switch from the normal controls into a control stick for walking/running and dragging for camera.

Addictive

I haven’t played a game....on a console, on my iPad, ever...that has totally captivated me like this has. You gradually learn the language of the puzzles/mazes, and towards the end it challenges the toughest. Along the way there’s a number of lessons to be learned...both overtly from audio logs and videos, as well as more subtlety from the surrounding environment. I’m thoroughly impressed, and now that I’ve finished (after a couple weeks) I hope there’s a version 2 on the horizon.

Well that was a waste of money

I played for a bit, even though I was immediately turned off how all the puzzles were essentially just a maze with some minor mechanism changes. I stopped playing abruptly when I get to the guess where it goes puzzles. Find the right path in a tree of 16, then go to the next. Guess wrong in the next one, go back to the first. Finally get the 2nd right, start guessing the 3rd. Guess wrong, and go back and do the 2nd again. That is not fun, just an annoying waste of time.

Best Game ever

Literally everything I want in a game

Excellent game

I don’t usually give 5 stars but this game is top notch. It looks like 2d puzzles in a 3D environment until you get to the environmental puzzles. There are puzzles in the clouds, in the trees, and in the rocks. Great game. I recommend it.
