A little gem!

Main menu no longer works

peripheraATL

Just recently noticed pressing the “MAIN” menu button no longer button works/does anything on my iPhone 6s running iOS 11.2.6. This is BUGGING me because I no longer have access to important menu functions such as MIDI...please fix this! Still a good app and decent sounding synth. Would like to give more stars in the future though!

Sounds great

LogicalExplanation

I like it, it sounds good, it has good scale and stuff, my favorite synth is “Debeatable Morality”, it kinda sounds like the Portal 2 Music with all the lfo sounds, wish I could know how to make that kinda thing in FL Studio (help pls?) great app lov it

Better phone app than iPad.

Who uses the pixel doubler anymore? This developer still does. They’ve done nothing with this app for a year! Make it a Universal App. Make the ‘kids’ rotate device to access an additional screen configurable. I have an iPad and I’m not taking it out of it’s stand to rotate my device. Do those two things and then I’ll buy the ‘Pro Upgrade’. To the one star reviewer. Just because an app hasn’t been updated in a year, it does not necessarily mean that the app has been abandoned. Second, the app TF7 app plays fine on iOS 11...it also plays fine on iOS 12.2. No, neither apps should be removed from the App Store.

Needs a few changes but TF7 and TF8 are awesome

Update: landscape mode stopped working. The keys dont press when in landscape. First: regarding the changes - settings change with preset. This is a drastically helpful update. It drove me nuts to completely build a tone and arp again because i changed the preset sound. Let alone changing the key back to boring C major again. Good change. BUT..why cant the settings STAY after you close it? I have to go back into the settings to make it keep these new settings back off. Or just default to all of the changes to presets being off. Its more natural. No one really should WANT the entire thing to change with a preset. Midi: not sure what the problem was, but i know Audiobus 3 midi support is not available yet. It will load into midi slot but no sound goes through. The arpeggio step sequencer is a little confusing with its flow of what plays and when. Maybe a little visual notification, or a blinking light when it plays. It takes too much fidgeting when building it. Still requesting - This to be less iphone and more of an ipad layout. Fix the landscape look, should have controls. No one turns their ipad during performances. I seriously do love both TF7 AND TF8. Its just on the line of being perfect, and those couple changes would make it consistently usable.

Useless

This app has been abandoned a year ago, and it’s predecessor tf7 doesn’t even work in iOS 11. Both apps should be removed from the App Store.

Another great synth from Tenacious Frog

The developer of TF7, arguably the finest FM synth for iPad, releases TF8 for iPhone. Unlike TF7 this is a subtractive synth. It uses the same pad style UI for the playing area as TF7 (tilt your phone to landscape), to which you can assign whammy and vibrato modulations. It's a fun take on using a touchscreen interface to bust out new melodies and chords. You can download the app for free and try out a few sounds and whatnot, if you like it you simply buy and unlock the whole thing via one IAP purchase. Same model used in TF7 (and many other great synths, like Alchemy etc). Not sure why some people think being able to demo an app before purchase is a bad thing. Bottom line, it sounds good, have a reverb that while kinda barebones with only 2 knobs, can be cranked up to one big lush verb. The other effects are up there as well. Not that many iPhone dedicated synths being released these days, that pad UI works a lot better then any virtual keyboard on a small iPhone screen though, so you can do chords on this thing.:-)

Sounds Great and has a Sweet Arp!

Loving this app's sound. So easy to use. Looks fine on iPad. The arp is now my favorite arp to use. An awesome value for the low IAP unlock price. Recommended!
