I’m not sure what the difference between lineplus and whatscall is, or which should be used going forward, but so far it works well. Update: I had a temporary issue is that the app needs to be running in the background to receive calls. I have not seen that issue any longer.
I love this App! 3-Lines that you can record!

This is the best phone app in the App Store by far! It gives you free calling & texting as well as up to three separate phone numbers & you can record on all three lines. The best part of this app is the excellent customer service! I highly recommend this app!

Can’t record greeting. Says record after the tone with no visuals or keypad toend it- nor can you listen to the playback. No notifications and my notifications are ON. 2 stars Bc I can only call or text

My friend and I got this app for business. We are able to send and receive text messages. However, when we tried to call each from the LINE and call the LINE, it would sometimes ring or not and get a message that the call can't be completed at this time. We made several attempts and no prevail. What's the point if we can't make calls or receives any from the line. Update: Changed rating to 5 stars. The developer quickly responded and resolved the issue. Thanks.
