Note: Tenor Tutor displays notes in either the tenor clef or the alto clef (selectable). If you want to learn the treble clef or the bass clef, please see the Note Tutor app (search for Note Tutor on the App Store).
Tenor Tutor starts from the beginning, and helps you build music note recognition through random repetition.
> Introductory version:
Learn basic note recognition in a fun, flash-card game format. Master the basics quickly and easily.
Start from the beginning, and advance to the next version of Tenor Tutor to build on your solid basic music theory skills.
To use Tenor Tutor, simply identify the note by pressing the correct A, B, C, D, E, F, or G button. If you are right, you get one point and advance to the next note! If you are wrong, you lose a point, but you get to try again.
The score shows how many notes you are recognizing correctly per minute. If you slow down, your score may go down, even if you do not make mistakes... so try to go as fast and as accurately as you can!
You can choose to display notes in either the tenor clef or the alto clef: please press the "i" button to access the controls.
This app is horrible! The tenor clef sign moves up and down the staff changing the position of the notes and therefore teaching the incorrect notes to learners. Do not buy!!
PLEASE add more flexibility to adjusting the range. I teach beginning viola players and need to be able to initially limit the bottom end of the range to the D within the staff. Would love a one minute timer to see how many they actually do in a minute...
Great app, and exactly what I needed to expand my trombone skills. Really helps!
I'm a bassoon player who is trying to learn tenor clef and this is really helping me! No bugs at all. Very well made app... Worth the $2.00.
Fabulous tool! Worth the money! Buy today! I have been an advanced music reader in treble, bass, and alto clef for years; however, I struggled mastering tenor clef for my intermediate cello studies. I tried transposing treble clef and bass clef when reading tenor, but needed to know the new clef quickly as I know the others. This really helped me!
