Note Tutor starts from the beginning, and helps you build music note recognition through random repetition.
Learn basic note recognition in a fun, flash-card game format. Master the basics quickly and easily.
Applicable to all instruments and styles of music.
Start from the beginning, and advance to the next version of Note Tutor to build on your solid basic music theory skills.
To use Note Tutor, simply identify the note by pressing the correct A, B, C, D, E, F, or G button. If you are right, you get one point and advance to the next note! If you are wrong, you lose a point, but you get to try again.
The score shows how many notes you are recognizing correctly per minute. If you slow down, your score may go down, even if you do not make mistakes... so try to go as fast and as accurately as you can!
Note Tutor now allows you to choose whether you want to practice only the treble clef, only the bass clef, or both clefs at once.
We have also added an option that allows you to choose how Note Tutor displays the score: kids may prefer to see the points scored, while more serious students may prefer the "points per minute" display that helps you improve your speed and accuracy.
Both new features are accessed by pressing the "i" button to reveal the flipside control screen.
If you want to practice the Tenor Clef or the Alto clef, please consider purchasing the Tenor Tutor application!
I’ve used a few other sight reading training apps but this one is clear, easy to use and solid. You can tailor settings to focus on the range of notes and keys you want to work on. Just right - and free! I would happily pay for it but the developer doesn’t even have a donation button in the app.
I am terrible at identifying notes in the bass clef and this simple little app is helping. It just quizes you on notes, I like it.
This helped my review my note reading-it has helped immensely. Very good buy.
This app has changed how I practice reading sheet music. I used to have a binder full of pages of practice sheet music but now it's all on my phone. It makes it a great use of time as I'm actually practicing something when I have downtime throughout the day!
I want to practice treble clef only, but there's no option to practice just one clef. Good otherwise.
My daughter is learning violin; her only training in reading music has come from using Note Tutor, and it's enabled her to be able to read songs on her own.
I bought two apps for refreshing my note reading skills. I much prefer this application. Very easy to use and I like the note options that stay consistent at the bottom of the page. I prefer this to apps that simulate flipping a note card. This is faster and imo, more effective.
I have been using it to practice note reading in treble clef and like the scoring feature that provides me with useful feedback but as an wind player player wish you would include Eb key as that wil provide even more complete training...keep up the great work!!!
Does exactly what it says, simple but efficient interface. I used this app to brush up on some sight reading and it has really helped. Very convenient to just use for a couple minutes here and there and then put away.
This is a total waste of your money!!! It doesn't teach you how to write notes! It shows a note on the screen and you have to guess which one it is! I expected this app to TEACH me how to read notes, but it doesn't. Total waste of money! Do not buy!!!!!!!
