Great app,but.......

Bmsooo3

I love this app so far, but I wish there was a way to copy a lesson for the day in more than one class so I wouldn't have to type it over in every class period. And a way to keep a journal on a kid other than good or bad behavior. Like if I talk to a parent by phone and not email. Other than this I love it. I haven't tried the grading book yet but I plan to. Thanks for this app, I have to say I don't regret paying for it.

Ruined!

This was my go-to app until about a week ago. Now it crashes about 60 seconds after I open it--every blessed time!

It keeps crashing after 2 minutes

I have used this app since the beginning and never had so many problems until this latest update. It keeps crashing after two minutes. I can't backup or sync because it times out or just shuts down. Ugh! Please fix these issues.

Crashes. Unusable.

This worked great for a week or two, then they updated to work with os11, too bad it doesn’t work - at all. Unfortunately I already paid my $40 - for an app that doesn’t work, which means it’s done. Teachers don’t have time to wait for bug fixes. Kids are back on Monday. If it’s not fixed by Monday we will be using something else! This app simply crashes - completely non-functional.

Unusable

Pretty much unusable and crashes nonstop. Too many bugs.

Monthly fee

They have been removing free features and force a monthly fee to get them back.

Once great, now crashing, missing reports, and lying customer service.

I’ve been using TK for the past 5 years, as has my entire department. With the new IOS, the app has become extremely frustrating as it freezes and crashes regularly. Everyday when I try to take attendance, the app freezes often losing data. But perhaps the most annoying issue came when a recent update took away the reports option. “Reports” was a previously offered add on package that you paid for. I purchased it and used it to print out my grade reports for submission to the department head. Now that function has been disabled and is only offered with a paid monthly membership. As if that wasn’t bad enough, when I questioned customer service, they refused to acknowledge that the reports option ever existed, telling me I would have to buy the new monthly service. After sending them a photo of the receipt from iTunes for the “Reports” purchase, I was still met with a half baked statement about how that feature was no longer available. What kind of company sells you something, then takes it way and try’s to repackage it to sell it to you again? I can’t recommend this product anymore as it has become unstable, and the customer service experience of being lied to has truly soured my feelings about the company. Don’t buy it.

Useful for attendance tracking

I use TeacherKit only to take attendance. Teaching at a university, I just need a quick, easy way to track attendance. With this app, I can quickly see all my students with their photo as well as their name, just tap on the auto-check button to show all present, then tap the one or two who are absent. Taking attendance is very fast. I also love that I can have this app sort my students by number of absences - in this view I see which students have the most absences (and risk a grade penalty), but also see a red badge on each student showing how many absences they each have. For me, this is the essential feature so I can see their status at a glance and alert students before they get too many absences. I also like that I can export the info to Excel to create a backup or save with my course files once the semester is done. The downside is that I have been using this app for 3 years or more and it keeps changing. Sometimes the changes are good... sometimes features disappear or the app has slow-downs or crashes. The developer sometimes releases major changes in the middle of a semester, so be careful to read recent reviews to know if an update is useful or to hold off until the term is done. Another negative is that it can take some effort to learn how to use certain features, such as how to import your roster with photos, or how to sort students to view their absences displayed on screen at a glance. All in all, this is a good app. I think the developer has been more consistent recently with making updates that don't dramatically change the app. After spending a lot of my time to figure this app out, it works well for the limited use I have for it. If you need to generate reports, you will want to evaluate the monthly subscription they require for that. I have done just fine without the reports feature.

Good app

Soej

This is a good app! I really like this app and it’s made my job easier. There are some glitches but the support team has been very responsive. Having pictures of the kids is great plus all my info is digital and backed up. Better than writing in a plan book.

Keeps crashing after the last update

I have just updated the app but I can't open it now. It turns itself off...
