My child loves it!

kfischbacher

Teach my monster to read is fun and engaging for my daughter in 1st grade. She loves getting on to play and especially loves the letters she gets from her monster that say thank you for helping me read! This is by far the best reading app I have found!

Won’t connect

Tice89

Does this app only work on WiFi? Cause I’ve been trying to log in with the information that his teacher gave me but it keeps saying it won’t connect and to check my connection. I’m using my cellular data on my phone

Wonderful App

My 6 year grand daughter has been struggling with her reading. I came up on this App & decided to purchase it. She has loved, loved, loved this app. I myself enjoy watching her have so much fun! Thank you all who made the App possible!

Great tool

Rubytears42

My daughter is 3 and eager to learn to read. While we work with other tools, this has been a fun and engaging way for her to practice skills that would otherwise seem boring and repetitive. I highly recommend this app or the computer version for anyone wanting to support their young reader!

Fun learning with some flaws

The speakers on the app have an English (UK) accent. We are American. This make understanding the new letter sound combinations difficult for a new reader, especially those ending in r (as we tend to pronounce the ending r sound when those from England do not). My son loves the games and learning new words, but I don’t feel that he is fully grasping new information before the game allows him to progress. There is one section where he has to read a full sentence and follow the instructions. I have to read those for him because he only knows about half the words.

Some programs too fast

Mom3rc

I am a computer teacher at a local elementary school. I used the program for the first time with my kindergarteners. They love it but there are a few games that was a struggle for them. The first games is when you build the rocket, the mouse movement is too fast and the same for the flower game. The man is running to fast and the students don’t have time to click on the flowers to hear the letter sounds; which then the program tells the students that they when the wrong way.

Great

thomasruggles

Wonderful app that engages and encourages sound/letter connection, emphasizing sound, the proper way to teach reading to beginning minds. Thanks for a glorious app.

Very buggy

nstar728

Looks like a fun game with good ideas for learning and engagement. However you should not buy this until they fix the bugs. Sometimes it will just hang and won’t respond. Other times the letters you’re supposed to be choosing are invisible. Such an unreliable app.

Terrible game play

The concept is great but the actual game play is impossible to figure out. Way too difficult for a young kid. I can barely get it to work for me.

Holds my kids’ interest

I had trouble getting Clark to do his reading work in other applications, specifically phonics. TYMTR keeps his attention for longer than his assigned time and is helping progress past the plateau we were experiencing with his understanding of phonics.
