The other dating apps don’t really get to the point if you have good taste in music and that’s important to you. I’m enjoying the connections I’m making on Tastebuds. It’s great.

I always relate to people through music. It’s cardinal to my way of life. It’s about time we have a way to find similar people through music. Music nerds unite - there would be a variant on this app called RaveMate to umbrella the EDM community

The same way you swipe left is the same way you see the persons other musical tastes. The space for these options is less than an inch difference on the screen. This means it’s easy to accidentally swipe left on a potential match. And you can’t search so the music tastes Match is pretty random.

Over the years ALOT of the functionality has been removed from this app. Ironically, this includes being able to search for and match with others based on specific bands and tastes which is the whole point of this app. For example, I listen to heavy metal bands. Previously I was able to search for other people who like the same bands. However, now I’m left with a carousel similar to Tinder or any of the other swipe dating apps with random users of drastically different music tastes than mine. If you want to get the most mileage out of your Tastebuds experience, use the desktop site.

The point of this app is to find similar taste in music. If someone lists 50 artists and one of them is the same as yours, they are matched to you. Not only is it a waste of time, there are barely any people on it. But check it out for yourself.
