Much better than getting a free app and paying for a service, but w/disappointing results. I found that all the voices sounded like computers. A few days ago I risked another $2 on a similar app call Speak It and was delightfully surprised. It was great. I hope the developers of this app can fix the bugs on this app so that I don't feel totally gypped.

The voices produced by SpeakIt! are so much better. This isn't even a contender. And the speak as you type feature cuts out on some words befiore they are fully pronounced.

Wow, it's certainly better to have two high quality voices instead of four marginal ones! They're awesome. Controlling the speaking speed is great too. I also liked the auto speak function and the ability to launch Talk To Me from Safari after I've copied some text.

This is one of those rare apps that really pushes the envelope of what the iphone/touch can do by enabling real-time text-speech. There are even different voices/accents that can be selected.

The last reviewer is obviously a competitor or a troll. This is not a Banzai Labs app. It's written, as is clearly stated, by Chris Chauvin, an individual. So, rating this app with one star and giving a amorphous statement about Banzai's apps is just obviously a ploy to down trod this app and Banzai. Simply horrible.
Better than the others

I have wanted an app like this for a long time to read long NYT articles (and other articles) so I can do other things while passively listening. I can paste extremely long articles into the app and it starts reading immediately. The pronounciations are almost always accurate. I tried a few other apps to compare with rhis one and this was by far my favorite. I'm very impressed and this greatly enhances my productivity!
Occasionally crashes when you try to leave library window

The app works great except for occasional crashing when in the library window and clicking "done" to get back to the main window to type additional text. It would also be able to select larger font sizes in the library view. After playing around with it more, I noticed that it only crashes when you go to the library with no text already typed in the main screen. If you have anything typed and you go to the library, you can click done to get back tot he main window. If you have nothing previously typed, it crashes. Bug. I wound up purchasing both this and "Speak It". Without the crashing bug, I like this version better but the "Speak It" does alow you to select the font size which is nice. I bought these apps for a family member that had throat surgery and can't speak for a few days.
