Life Well Lived

From the days of dial up when PK gave us the local surf report the world of wave prediction has evolved along a technological path of perfection. Maybe it’s that embedded spirit that surfing imparts to you in that anything you do, you do for surf. It’s not just the spiritual journey of wave riding but also the incredible humans you meet along the way. What does all this ethereal dissertation have do with reviewing The Surfline App? Since you asked I will tell: it’s so obvious the people who have dedicated their lives to making this App are true Surfer’s at heart. No doubt they could easily have taken higher paying jobs with NOAA or other Federally funded weather, and/ or atmospheric condition data collection Agencies. It’s their love of all things surf that has kept them here, at Surfline. Because every true surfer knows Surfline is the Gold Standard of surf prediction. It’s how it’s always been and always will be. I guess the question is: Will you be going for the Gold? Do yourself a favor and make it so.

Still the best -- updates are real solid

Past two updates have been great, new UI is much cleaner. Still the most reliable surf-app out there.

The site is great, no complaints really. The app is pretty good but one thing that annoys me is that you can’t do a surf check on a spot without it being added to your favorites. You should be able to check a location independent of adding to favorites. Otherwise the app is excellent

Ads are insane.

If you’re going to make me watch an ad, at least have the volume muted and for the love have some different ones. I just open up the app on two screens so I don’t ever have to watch them. Maybe space them out a bit more? Do y’all get paid EVERY TIME IT’S SHOWN?!? For the love it makes me hate every company promoted - I literally buy any other beer than 805 now. Might actually pay for your app if it wasn’t such a horrible ad experience.

Great value for core surfers

Surfing is all I really do. This app has an accurate long range forecast and excellent surfing content ie videos, articles and movies. The premium membership is worth it.

Good but

Great cams, you guys should clean them after a storm. Best in the west.

Cams, Cams, Cams

If you want to check the surf around the world without getting out of bed, this is the app for you.During this coronavirus lockdown I have definitely been Jones in for surf trips. But at least I can get my fix by watching perfect Indo and hundreds of other spots. Sometimes the wave heights shown on the different pages don’t match each other and I find their Hawaii surf reporting and forecasting to be a bit less detailed and accurate than some others, but the premium membership is worth the price of admission just for the charts and, did I mention, the cameras?

Well worth it

I've been paying for the premium subscription for years and literally using it's forecasts all over the world for surf trips and when coastal cruising as a yacht captain. I always use other more than one forecasting app or service when making decisions, but Surfline is firmly in the mix.

Solid

... but you gotta get premium. It’s the only way to maximize the experience, the free version just frustrates cuz you won’t be able navigate as smoothly with all the ads, and lack of personalization of your spots. Since I got premium I have been way more dialed in
