I’m still having issues with this app freezing up. It only allows me to answer one tug o war at a time. I have to close the app to move on to the next question. Come on computer science students make this work!

Mostly use the app for rewards, games, and giveaways, but seeing ASU news is nice being an out of state alumnus. Just wanted to comment that being able to sort rewards from low to high would be a welcome update (especially when still building points lol). The app lags a bit when opening different sections, but it gets there.

Some of the features and pages of this app do not work for overseas alumni. You cannot play games or attempt to win awards unless you are in the states.

Sun Devils Rewards is an app that will allow you to earn rewards for keeping up with the latest information about what is going on at ASU. Including news, game scores, shows at Gammage, upcoming events, as well as a Shop that will let you buy gear and tickets! And the best part is that the app is free!!!! Overall I think that the app is easy to use, and has lots of "extras." There are polls and trivia questions that after you participate, will give you pitchforks which can be redeemed in raffles to win tickets to events. There are also secret words scattered throughout that will also help you earn extra pitchforks. The icon for the app, to me, is a little bit cheesy. I think the idea is definitely there, but the execution is a little off. To fix it, maybe make the ASU portion a little bigger, and instead of highlighting in white, maybe some gold highlights. This icon feels a little like it was created in Paint, and then slapped together. The app clearly is designed for a user who wants to keep up with the latest and greatest information directly from ASU. The app neatly organizes (with pictures and the graphics are awesome) all news clippings with the newest listed first. I think that the thing that stands out most about this app, is that it is so interactive. AND I like that it has this addictive way about it. It makes me feel as if I have to search the website to find secret words, and that I absolutely should participate in the polls, which is completely genius! Especially because one poll asked me to share it on Twitter, and then it hashtagged it for me! So it could help ASU become a trending topic with the help of the app. The app currently has a rating of 4, which I would agree with, I think that it just isn’t essential enough to daily life yet. But I think if you could have users check in places to earn rewards like at the Startbucks at the MU, or if you take a selfie at an ASU football game you could earn rewards. Then that would also help create content for the app.

Minor nuisances but otherwise good

The idea behind the app is pretty cool; you basically earn points by reading and sharing stories about ASU news and events, posting photos of yourself attending these events, participating in polls, etc. You can redeem these points to win some pretty cool stuff like tickets to ASU Gammage performances or other neat things. The rewards are divided into tiers, so the more points you rack up, the better your rewards will be. However, using the app itself can get a little irritating, which might make trying to earn points to win prizes more trouble than its worth. Although the app is pretty easy to navigate, there are some minor glitches that don't let you do certain things, such as particular areas of the app not moving when you try to scroll down. It also constantly prompts you to update your profile if you never connect your account to your social media accounts or registered your address, which gets really annoying. Furthermore, I had to resend the verification email three times before I finally received it and was actually able to start earning points using the app. The prizes that are actually worth getting require A LOT of points as well, so you pretty much have to be on the app daily to get what you want. However, it is free to download and use, so if you're a freshman living on campus at ASU and would like to keep up with the school's events and win prizes while you're at it, I'd recommend this app to you. From what I can see, the app is relatively new, so hopefully in a future update it will be improved and more user friendly.

The app is great in theory however the app lacks functionality and keeping up to date. The content can be overwhelming as well as confusing. This is a good app for promoting the university and uniting the ASU community however could use some improvements.

As an ASU alumni I love that the university is attempting to engage fans. Bravo! However - there is a fatal flaw in the app. If you accidentally misspell your email address on signup (I did), you will never be able to verify your email address. Without verifying the address, you can't do anything in app... Including edit your email address and profile details to correct it. I'm locked out... For the moment. And based on previous years of experience with ASU technical assistance, it could be a while. Fatal usability flaw. Come on ASU technical staff!!!

The concept is great. However, since I just received my alumni magazine claiming ASU is #1 in innovation this app is a sad sad showcase of that. I cannot even register as the app keeps rejecting my password. Please fix!
