This game held to pass the time

Good version of an enjoyable game. But can't understand what the “hint” button does exactly. It highlights several squares before it gives an actual hint but I don’t know what it’s trying to show me. Is there somewhere this is explained?

It’s good, but the levels for individual play are not that difficult and it would be nice to track “guesses”

I’m new to Sudoku tried others, most all were to hard to under stand. A friend has been playing this one. Thought I’d give it a try glad I did I’ve really learned to enjoy it

Sudoku is usually my go to if I have a little down time and I’ve really enjoyed this app. The option to make notes is instrumental in solving the harder puzzles, at least it is for me. My only issue is that when I ask for a hint and it starts putting down the notes and the solution I rarely understand how it came up with the answer.
