New 5.0 version not ready yet

I hope they get this working and there is really good documentation someday. There is no other app that does what this used to do. This affects the ability to sync iPad synths to a computer DAW

App is updated

EDIT: App is being actively developed again

No longer works iOS to PC

RAWedge00

Apple dropped the driver from iTunes which allowed Studiomux to work with Windows. Studiomux needs to furnish all the software needed including drivers for it to run on a PC or not claim it does. Furthermore they need to provide adequate information for the setup and operation of the software. All the good reviews are 4 to 6 years old. I used it then and it worked great but it was very picky about the order things were loaded. I used drivers for interface routines are whatever.

Frustratingly, Update:

iApps4Muse

It “is” a new version, dev team needs to be responsive and work through the issues. There are plenty of issues. I am holding off finishing review as bugs are being fixed

I asked for my money back

I spent hours and hours trying to get it to work. It doesn’t work on my iPhone 8+. I give up and will try AudioBus.

Used to work brilliantly.. Creators update for Windows 10 destroyed the console. Server won’t even launch anymore

Don’t bother if you have Win10

QuantumHarmonic

This used to work reasonably predictably until the Win 10 update last year and the Win64 and Win32 PC application no longer works AT ALL. It’s a brick until they update the Win 10 PC application.

The icon on the taskbar appears and then immediately disappears

Derwindkonig

In Windows 10, the icon on the taskbar appears and then immediately disappears. As such, there’s no way to make it work. No response from support, and I see others online with the same problem /just giving up/. Wish I could suggest an alternative! The devs continue to offer NO HELP. My impression is that they’ve given up on developing Studiomux because of Windows 10 incompatibility....

Frustrated and sad

Is this app dead? Support? I give 2 stars which represents the use I still get from it-the missing ones represents the developers lack of caring Don’t bother emailing support, nor asking questions via their community board you will just be frustrated. It’s a shame. I waited and waited, I wanted to see if something would change before I finally wrote a review. I speak from years as a musician, composer, teacher with academic degrees in computer music. I’m not a noob. This is just sad. I understand app builders/developers don’t get a huge payout for their hours of effort, but if you put your work out there and represent it to be a tool for the craft-act it. There are a plethora of issues from the app side, server side, and plugin side. Inquiries have been sent for all with no response. If a tool as this was supported, continued development and above all worked, I’d pay $50 for such an important tool. Anyone? Someone needs to pick up the mantle soon; we need a viable replacement.

Up and Running

This app is a great savings, compared to getting the iconnectivity midi2+. It does about the same thing, but with software. Overall, it works, but sometimes takes a few tries to get it down. It definitely has a mild learning curve, but after a day of testing, I was able to make it behave predictably. (Win8 + Ableton 10) On an iPhone 6s, it works pretty well until you do a full loop - midi into phone from ableton, audio out from phone to ableton; at which point it introduces latency and becomes a bit unstable. I found best results using the midi out from ableton (playing with a keyboard connected to laptop), then running the iPhone audio out through a 3.5mm to unbalanced TS cable into my focusrite 2i4. This provided the best sound quality, latency, and I am able to play my synths on the iPhone into ableton. To further improve, one could even use the Apple camera kit with a simple audio interface connected. Overall, my favorite feature is the way it creates and names midi ports for your apps in real time and connects w. USB... Makes the routing portion faster and easier than using rtpMIDI/network midi. I hope this app continues to be supported, as it’s made me very satisfied to not have to drop $80 on the hardware version, just yet. It has a lot of potential. - @codypmack
