It just works as it should

I’ve had incidents of file corruption when I used Keepass2Android offline. (PSA: Always make multiple backups of KeePass files) MiniKeePass hasn’t been updated in some time. As for the other major iOS KeePass port...well the less said the better. I came across Strongbox during a forum discussion. I initially thought I couldn’t sync KP files with SB across operating systems as some apps handle conversions differently. SB doesn’t touch kdbx file more than the minimum level to insure compatibility. There had been a real black hole for KeePass users in the iOS ecosystem. It was even worse for Mac OS as Mono has problems in terms of workaround and security concerns. I strongly recommend both the iOS and Mac app.

Fantastic KeePass solution on mobile

After being a long-time user of KeePass for work, I decided to make the switch over from LastPass for my personal logins to have better control of my saved data. My only hesitation was how to get my passwords on mobile. This app has made it absolutely a breeze and I don’t miss the LastPass app for a second! The ability to integrate with a cloud service to store the database is very powerful and convenient, I was able to hook it up without a hitch. The UI is clean and fairly intuitive, so this really hits on all cylinders.

The best KeePass app for iOS!

I have tried multiple apps that use KeePass and this is by far the best. I don’t mind to pay the yearly fee for the excellent app and fast app support. I had a question about the app and it was answered the next day. Thanks again for making such a great app!

Excellent app - responsive developer

*** Latest update - “Nearly expired” notifications. Perfection. Take my money! *** The latest update is outstanding in letting you see expired passwords at a glance through your list. (Other developers I have suggested this to have ignored my pleading for years!) This is extremely helpful in the workplace, where many of us have multiple passwords that expire on staggered schedules. This feature alone brings Strongbox virtually on a par with the desktop KeePass app. Great work on the rapid development and extremely user friendly interface! I’m sold!

Excellent app and top notch support

Like many other users I switched from Minikeepass. Strongbox is like Minikeepass on steroids with superior user interface and cloud storage integration. The support is just as amazing. I asked a question via email regarding integrating multiple OneDrive cloud accounts and received the answer within minutes with a workable solution. While most users would probably be happy with the free edition, I highly recommend paying for this app to support the ongoing development. It definitely is worth the price in my opinion.

Excellent IOS app for KeePass database

I used MiniKeePass in conjunction with Dropbox to use my desktop KeePass database on IOS devices. While MiniKeePass always worked, it was a manual process to up load an updated database version from DropBox to MiniKeePass. And the app’s interface, while workable, was pretty basic. Not to mention typing in that long KeePass db password every few minutes when I needed extended access. Recently I read about Strongbox on Ghacks. I decided to trial it. The app offers a generous 90 days trial of its pro version. I found what to me is a very polished interface. Optionally, the app allows replacing typing in the KeePass password with a PIN. Plus allows requiring PIN or touch each time the app is opened. And allows a different PIN on the database from accessing the app PIN. I have it configured to access the db on Dropbox, and it automatically checks Dropbox for the latest version of db file on opening the database. No more manually updating db when it’s changed. I had one issue. When trying to auto fill login forms, it kept looping back to opening the database. I couldn’t do auto fill. I emailed app support and received a reply from Mark the developer within 15 minutes. I learned from Mark due to IOS imposed memory limits, sometimes larger db files get into this looping problem. I discovered a desktop KeePass setting to purge old KeePass history records, which cut in half the size of my database, which resolved the auto fill issue. The app works great, is very well done, and getting a support reply from the developer directly in only a few minutes was very reassuring. I chose to support development on the app and signed up for the $10 yearly app subscription. This app makes working with KeePass on IOS pretty much as simple as using Keychain. Plus Keychain, each time, offers to add Strongbox logins I use into Keychain, if I want to. I think the developer’s done an excellent job!

It worth it. Good implementation for keepass type databases. The best thus far for iOS and macOS

Great KeePass Vault Manager

After switching from android, I needed to find a new password manager. I downloaded Strongbox after some research. The developer put a lot of effort into the app and it shows: polished, easy to use UI with cloud storage support from major applications like Google and Dropbox. I prefer to sync locally, which was easy and worked right away. Currently evaluating the Pro version and I do like the convenience of Face ID for unlock. I hope the developer continues to update and support Strongbox as many vault managers seem to be deprecated.
