Totally frustrating

I can’t even tell you how much I wish this app worked. I read the NYT every day online because I mostly can’t access this one. Although I have a paid, current membership it tells me about every other day that it has expired and I no longer have access to content. This is resolved by removing the whole app, downloading it again and logging in. When I click on pictures I get stuck and I have to close the whole app. Many times the screen just freezes on content and I have to close, reopen and try again. I really enjoy my local paper but find I’m not reading it anymore due tech issues. I hope StarTrib can get things resolved.
Old App Was Better

This app has too much redundancy in the articles and the placement of them. As a paying digital access customer, too often am I asked to sign in. Lastly, I no longer get the Washington Post Free. That was s bait and switch program!
Bad design and execution

Slow to load, forces you to keep loading to scan through all the news, and then keeps resetting itself. By far the worst of the five newspaper apps I’ve used.
Doesn't work at all

So frustrated, I deleted the old app, and downloaded this one. Won't work at all, and I do have a subscription to the hard copy, so I should be able to read it on my I Pad. What the hell?

This App isn’t worth the hassle. Twice today the app went to a photo and froze. Twice I had to delete and reinstall this app to make it useable. Why can’t this be fixed?

The app is slow and has ads even though there is a monthly charge for it. Maybe if the print version went away more resources would be available to bring the app to 20th Century standards. 21st Century is unobtainable for the people behind the app.
No one is paying attention to the comments

This app has had a problem for a long time with the photos in the articles. If you inadvertently touch the photo while scrolling through an article, the photo opens and you cannot get back to the article or app without bailing out entirely and restarting the app. I have written to the developer directly and I see that others have also commented on this, and yet nothing has been done to correct the problem. It is annoying enough that I often don’t bother going back to the app after having to bail out. Fix this already!

Below is my initial review from November. I’ve changed from 2 stars to 1 star. It is now mid-January and...nothing. App still freezes when a photo is even accidentally touched. Beyond frustrating and it was today...50 days after submitting my review that the Apple review dept checked in. FIX IT OR LOSE YOUR CUSTOMERS!!! I’ve got the paid version of this app, and it’s pretty frustrating experience using it. The worst thing is the problem with merely touching a photo: the photo pops up and you cannot close it. You have to delete the app and restart it, which is maddening! I see this problem has existed since at least June 2018, its now end of November and...nada, zip, nothing on a fix.

I cannot remove the photo nor can I lose the app. I really am flustered by this situation.
