Want to love this App...but not yet

Great idea, love having a separate App from my account. If full albums were available that would be great. My son (22M) listens to a number of entire albums by kid music artists, but we can only access them through the full account.

Wanted to like this app

I really wanted to like this app, but you can tell it needs some work and maybe released a bit early. Only the primary Spotify premium member can create a kids account. My husband is the primary member, but we are a family. I stay at home with the kids, but can’t create their own account to listen to because I use the info from my phone. We are a family... why don’t both adults not have the option for this?? You also cannot cast on any platform at the moment. That seriously does not help anything. I want to be able to play their music for them in the playroom on the google home while I listen to my own music while cleaning up. I’ve also seen some questionable song choices for the age range. And you cannot make playlists for them. We use playlists for all kinds of events. Plus, we have two kids with different interests. I don’t want to just “heart” songs and then get lost in the shuffle. Hopefully they are working on releasing some updates soon from all the feedback they are getting.

Great direction, needs more work

I’m glad Spotify made this app. It’s the right direction. It’s easy to use and my younger kids love it. The older ones, not so much, it’s too limited. And the parents... well, we hate it, unfortunately. Here’s what we wish for: * Less annoying music. Right now there’s sooo much of the annoying electronic “kids tunes” that drives grown ups insane (you know, like “I’m a gummibear... I’m a gummibear”). Our kids wouldn’t know of these songs if it weren’t for this app. Not even the regular Spotify app gives them this level of annoyingness — because they don’t know those tracks exists in the first place! * Something that prevents the kids from changing track every. single. second. They go through a hundred tracks a minute (when looking for things or just being bored). It’s not only too much for my ears, it also becomes a high excitement (rather than wind down) activity for them. This is key — music should help them relax, especially in these days of spending so much time at home. Not become a toy with unlimited album covers to look at and listen to 5 secs of each track. That’s what “parental control” means to me in this case — give me some settings to customize things. Thanks!

Great (as quoted from a 9 year old user)

We downloaded the app over the weekend and this is what my son has to say about it: I like Spotify because they have my favorite bands and they have funny characters. Some of my favorite bands are Ozzy Osbourne, Guns N’Roses, Imagine Dragons, and Bon Jovi. My 2nd favorite bands are MC Hammer, Criss Cross, and Tears for Fears, also TOTO. Three things I don’t like are no Criss Cross, no real Michael Jackson and they don’t have Bang. If I had a magic wand I would put every clean song on Spotify. P.S. I want Young the Giant on there.

Could be great

I was excited to see that there was a Spotify Kids app but unfortunately the features are too limited to make it useful for my two kids (8 and 5). Would love the ability to set up playlists for each of them, favorite songs that they listen to the most and just overall make it a more curated experience for each of them. Right now there is really no difference in having their two accounts. And our youngest hasn’t learned to read yet so she can’t type in the music she’s looking for. Will have to stick with the standard Spotify app for now.

Can't Share Playlists With My Daughter

maestrazo

I have taken hours making playlists to play with for my daughter on my account. Six playlists with hundreds of songs. I thought, "Perfect. I'll set up a Spotify Kids account and share the lists with her so she can access these songs anytime she wants." No can do. Please add this ability. Add this to what this app does.

Facebook login integration?

What if I use Facebook to login to Spotify? No integration on this app makes it a fail.

Rude!!

keira woods.?

Excuse me! But you took my review off the App Store! I took a long time writing that thing! Please put it back on.

Needs work

Love the concept. Needs work. Why isn’t there a shuffle button? It’d help not listening to the same songs again and again. Wish I could toggle off downloading all the favs to my device. My kids heart every single song, and I don’t want it on saved to the device.

Don’t waste your time

I downloaded this app maybe a month ago and was disappointed with the selection of songs and the user interface. With customer feedback, I was hoping changes would be implemented but no such luck. This app is fine if you don’t mind not being able to create playlists and sporadic song availability. For example, my daughter loves the Zombies 2 soundtrack but when I select the album only 4 out of 10 songs are available. I mean, why? Why are all songs not available? And how is it decided that only those 4 songs are available? That was just an example but it is pretty much the rule. There aren’t any full albums on the app. And I understand excluding songs that may contain explicit lyrics but most songs are excluded almost at random. For the app to be a service I pay for, since I must have Spotify Premium in order to utilize it, it is pretty lackluster and disappointing.
