Low-FODMAP Diet MUST-HAVE tool!!!!

MrsKJKelly

The ease of being able to scan a product to see if it’s low-FODMAP, moderate-FODMAP or high-FODMAP is incredible!!! No need to memorize all the millions of hidden or sneaky ingredients while trying to stay on a low-FODMAP diet. The app tells you which ingredients are moderate-FODMAP and high-FODMAP. SO once the elimination and challenge phases are done, this app can still be a valuable too!! Just avoid those food that contain your triggers!

Update database!

I just downloaded your app. I am on a Keto diet and have some alternative sweeteners I wanted to try. Of the four I scanned not one is in your database. This doesn’t help me at all. I have no option that I can find to add them either. This doesn’t inspire me to want to continue to use your app I’d the database is so limited. Thank you.

Amazing app. Amazing customer support!!

This app is clutch for anyone who is starting this diet for sure. This is all new to me, and this is about as easy to use as I could have asked for. Ability to have a list that could be shared would be amazing. Also the customer service is incredible! I have flagged 2 products in the last two days, and they updated them and followed up with me within 24hr. Impressive

Very helpful!

This app has been great in helping me navigate the low fodmap diet. It’s also helped me learn some of the ingredients I should be on the lookout for in foods and recipes. I also love that I can save past scans and favorites so I can reference different products when I need to. This is a game changer!

Awsome App

Fishbrane

This is the only barcode scanner in the App Store that will let u know in real time if a food is high fodmap. I believe this is an essential tool for people with stomach issues and will help the curing process. A MUST HAVE!!!!

Broken app

Will not scan anything anymore. Will delete

Getting better

This app has some distance to go - so many products are marked yellow (meaning they don’t know if they’re high or low FODMAP). This is partially because of the complex nature of FODMAPs, since testing is required for each product to be 100% sure. That said, the Spoonful staff/support are very responsive and helpful, and they’re adding new products all the time. The app tells you what ingredients flag a food as red or yellow so you can make your own best decision for your body. This app is a good tool to have in your tool belt while navigating the complex world of FODMAPs.

Can’t go wrong with this app!!

Downloading this app has been a lifesaver for me!! As someone who is newly diagnosed with ibs and has had to completely revamp my diet, having this app to check the safety of foods has been so helpful when I sometimes feel so clueless and overwhelmed on what I can and can’t eat. If the item isn’t listed when scanned or searched for, their amazing team will verify it for you if you send it to their support email. I highly recommend this app!

Not accurate

srhdriscoll

As an someone with a lot of experience with the low fodmap diet, I don’t recommend this app to people because it marks a lot of foods that have a safe serving size as high fodmap. This causes people to unnecessarily restrict foods from an already really restrictive diet. The idea is great, but unless they can come up with a way to take serving sizes into account and the amount of a certain ingredient in the product, it’s always going to be inaccurate.

WOW!!

This app is amazing! It’s a perfect complement to the Monash app. I started scanning the stuff we’ve got in our pantry, and was surprised at how many items are already in their database of foods. I was also surprised to find out that the breadcrumbs we’ve been using are high-FODMAP because they contain soy flour. This diet has so many things to remember, and that is one ingredient that I had missed! No wonder my tummy hurt when I ate it! The list of people they have consulting on the app are top-notch in the FODMAP world. If you’re following a low-FODMAP diet, this app is a GREAT find!
