The old UI was better
dirtyconsultant

The app before the merger had a much nicer user experience. This update just lifted the mariott apps worse ui...

They turned it into the Marriott app ?
Gus dm3

I’ve used both apps for years. The Marriott app has never had the features I wanted and has been unnecessarily complicated. The SPG app had great features and was easy to use. Then Marriott bought SPG. This new update basically clones the Marriott app. Marriott, stop forcing us to use subpar tech (same problem happened to their website). It’s starting to feel like you hate your SPG customers.

Marriott ruined this app
mrnealio

Prior to August 19th, the SPG app was excellent. It had a ton of features, including a lot of detail about a specific hotel, it’s location and even transportation options. Marriott seems to have all of a sudden thrown that out the window and forced their pretty basic app on us, hiding that downgrade with familiar SPG branding and graphics. Shame on Marriott, this is not how you earn loyalty.

No option to specify # of children.
Dell-berry

Nice looking app but missing an important consideration. There is no way to select number of children for a booking. Only allows for adults. In contrast the website shows a selector for specifying the children and their ages.

I am not happy at all
Jumper4000

They’re devaluing the points significantly. Most hotels are going up by as much as 4 times, while you only get 2 points per dollar spent. I call this the ripoff of the century.

Significant Downgrade
anon user revisw

Significant downgrade from previous versions. Very hard to navigate. Bombarded with ads for credit cards and Hertz. Old versions were much better.

Review of the new update

In the event that your developers attempt to create an improved version of the app please work out all the kinks with allowing the patrons/customers to log into their accounts before launching the update. I have attempted to log in from several devices. In addition to attempting to log in to my account via email with password, I have attempted to log in using my SPG number and password on numerous devices. When that failed I attempted to change my password. Every attempt at ANY action at all resulted in a screen that displayed “Error. This service is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.” Attempting to click on the icon ‘contact customer support’ was met with the same response. Overall I’d rate this at a pitiful attempt to combine the 3 loyalty programs together. In the event that I am able to log in to my account and view the new changes, I’d be delighted to change the rating and write a new review.

Horrible app
saimaipaigai

Starwood had a great app design and interface. Comes Marriot and destroys all that was good with Spg. The app-horrible new design. The loyalty program-down the tubes. The credit card-gone is the joy of using Spg credit card. They should have thought of Keeping two separate but related programs that worked fairly well this past year. Time for a new brand

The App is not functional after the update. I can’t login to my account nor it gives any reason why is not functional.

Downgraded to Marriott’s platform
SPG 4 Life

New release downgrades SPGs platform to Marriott’s platform. Drop in basic functionality.
