This app has been my “go to” when ever I suspect that my WiFi is moving slowly. I don’t mind the ads because I have a reliable cable internet connection.

There was an update for my router that fixed the reboot issue when running a speedtest

This is one of the best apps of this type and very accurate. Love how it saves results and can test your connectivity with a simple click. If you wanna keep your isp honest use this and rate them each time.

I’ve relied on Speedtest for years, but most importantly a year or so ago when Apple started using Intel modems in its iPhones. Cellular data was slower and spottier, and with my iPhone XS Max, wifi was even spotty. Every time a new iOS version or beta with a new modem firmware came out, I used Speedtest to see if internet speed had improved. It’s also useful whenever you connect to a new hotspot or change your wireless router. Highly recommended essential utility.

How do I know which connection is being tested?

Great app overall but what happened to the feature where it tells you which connection you are testing? I look back and have no idea what WiFi connection or data connection was being tested. Not sure why they got rid of that. I understand there is a notes section but please bring back when they showed what connection was being tested. Thanks for all the hard work!

I use Okla Speedtest on all my devices. In at least two instances I have used the results to persuade my ISP to fix a problem with my WiFi speeds. Whenever there seems to be some kind of connection issue I go to Speedtest first to see if our internet service is the problem. Very useful and reliable app.

A very honest review

the app wont work anymore

So in the times that I have used this app, it has helped me bully my internet provider into giving me the speed I pay for rather than wonder why I only get 5mbs out of 1000mbs. Most people know this provider by heart and shall not be named but I am happy this app has kept me in the loop of their speed test service lying to customers and throttling speeds just to get you to lease their equipment. Good job so far and hope to see a WiFi analyst in the future for us tech guys to calibrate channels! :)
