Learning is Good

If you "don't get it" maybe you should try reading the description. This is more of a tech demo than a game. It is a companion to a book on programming a game.

Awful
Yuyyyy

This game is terrible, I don't even know why anyone would make this, DON'T GET IT!!!!!

This is a development book project...
Atlantaphil

For people that don't understand this game, it's the companion project for an iOS game development book. So yes, the game itself is kind of lame; which makes it the perfect match for a beginner's project. So while this may stink out loud to someone looking for a game, it's a pretty cool goal to build for yourself if you've gotten the development book.

Good tech demo
INF1N17Y

Buggy in some areas but it will be a great demo to learn to create

Well done!

I'm reading the "Learning Cocos2D" book, and having the app we're developing right here for download is motivating. Well done on both the book and example game "Space Viking," I'm enjoying figuring out how it works.

The music ROCKS!
CheezyCracker

It's the most professional and polished part of the game! Where can I download these tracks?

Buggy, bad design, poor control, mostly useless
phonebone222

If this is an example of the authors' game programming ability, they have much work to do! Very bad user interface design, hard to read fonts, interface not resposive..... No instructions. Game crashes. I was at the bookstore looking at their book, "Learning Cocos2D". It mentions this game as an example. I like his book's layout. It seems like a good introduction, but it needs work too. Many details are missing. I am now reluctant to buy the book. Maybe the next edition?
