I am currently reading the companion book which walks you through the entire development of this game, step-by-step. The name of the book is, "Learning Cocos2D." My favorite app development book by far.

The achievements are not unlocking. Getting the book though, seems like it will be a good intro to cocos2d

I was thinking about buying the book that shows you how to make this game. After playing the game, I'm not so sure I want to buy the book anymore. This app doesn't really help sell your book.

I can't wait to learn these and use them. How do you control the Escape scene? I touch the screen and it does some weird jump that doesn't seem right. Anybody know how to control the jump? (edit) I see it's by moving the phone and touch to jump.

Dude lol I was about to buy your book. But after seeing this though.. Hell no!
Science!!!
Game controls use a joy stick and jump and punch button, but no multitouch! Meaning u have to stop running to jump or punch. Also, no pause? And the physics stink. Bad example to use.

The people rating this as 1 star obviously haven't read the book, and probably aren't programmers. The book is an excellent guide for helping you learn the cocos2d framework. If you complain about the game itself being bad, then you are completely missing the point. It's like complaining that your first driving lesson isn't teaching you how to do doughnuts, drifting and 2-wheel driving.

Dudes, you are missing the point , this game only shows you that you are able to do stuff on cocos2d, don't worry about UI and no pause button, etc... Come on!!!

This isn't a real game! It's demonstrating the basic principles that the book will teach you, principles which you will use to develop real games.

This app is an excellent way to demonstrate the power of Cocos2D along with the accompanying libraries such as Box2D and Chipmunk. So far I've been loving the book and about to start part 4-> Physics Engines which I'm really excited about! Amazing app and game! Thanks Rod and Ray! For those of you who think this game is bad is because this app wasn't meant to be the next top downloaded app; it was made to teach Cocos2D! Thanks again Rod and Ray, This book is fantastic!
